Interior Features
Lincoln claims that the 2013 MKT is quieter inside. Standard equipment includes 12-way power front seats, premium Bridge of Weir leather, panoramic glass Vista Roof, and a MyLincoln Touch infotainment system with Sync hands-free connectivity that turns the MKT into a mobile Wi-Fi hot spot.

Optional Features
To get extras, buyers must upgrade to the MKT EcoBoost or EcoBoost Elite trim levels. In addition to a more powerful engine and all-wheel drive (AWD), the MKT EcoBoost features Lincoln's new Continuously Controlled Damping (CCD) suspension. The EcoBoost Elite adds navigation, premium sound system, heated steering wheel, and a power-folding third-row seat. Options include 20-inch wheels, heated and ventilated second-row captain's chairs with a refrigerated center console, and a power-opening Vista Roof. The EcoBoost Elite is also available with a Technology package containing Active Park Assist and numerous safety features.

Under the Hood
The 2013 MKT has a standard 3.7-liter V-6 engine good for 303 horsepower, and a 6-speed automatic transmission delivers power to the front wheels (FWD). The EcoBoost models get a twin-turbocharged, 3.5-liter V-6 engine that generates 365 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft. of torque, the latter peaking between 1,500 and 5,250 rpm. All-wheel drive is standard on the EcoBoost models.

Lincoln Drive Control offers Comfort, Normal and Sport driving modes that tailor powertrain, steering, and, on EcoBoost models, CCD suspension behavior according to one of those three settings.

Fuel Economy
EPA fuel-economy estimates for the 2013 Lincoln MKT are:
  • MKT FWD: 17/25/20 mpg (city/highway/combined)
  • MKT EcoBoost AWD: 16/23/18 mpg

Safety
Equipped with 6 air bags, anti-lock brakes with brake assist, traction and stability control, Sync with 911 Assist service, and programmable MyKey features, the 2013 MKT is well stocked with safety features. Additionally, the MKT can be equipped with new inflatable rear seat belts, adaptive cruise control with forward-collision warning and brake support, blind-spot monitoring system with cross-traffic alert, Lane Keeping Alert and Assist, and a Driver Alert system that detects a drowsy driver and recommends a driving break.
