Unique exterior styling details separate the F Sport from other RX models, and this version of the SUV is equipped with power-folding, auto-dimming exterior mirrors, roof rails, rain-sensing wipers, and a set of 19-inch aluminum wheels with a Superchrome finish. Inside, the F Sport has a black headliner, black leather with silver-accented perforations and seat stitching, memory for the driver's settings, and a power sunroof.Options and Packages

A 3.5-liter V-6 engine is installed in the RX 350, generating 275 horsepower. It has a standard 6-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive (FWD). An AWD system with variable torque split and a manual locking differential is optional for the RX 350, and standard for the RX 350 F Sport. The F Sport version of the SUV is also equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The RX 450h is equipped with a 3.5-liter V-6 engine, an electric motor, nickel-metal hydride battery pack, and a regenerative braking system. Combined system output measures 295 horsepower, and when the optional AWD system is selected a second electric assist motor is added to power the rear wheels. A continuously variable transmission is included with this powertrain, and offers the driver Normal, Sport, Eco, and EV driving modes.Fuel Economy
The 2014 Lexus RX 350 is rated by the EPA to get a minimum of 18 mpg in the city and a maximum of 26 mpg on the highway, depending on which transmission the SUV has and whether or not it is equipped with AWD. As might be expected, the Lexus RX 450h is more fuel-efficient, rated to return 32 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. With AWD, the city rating for the hybrid version falls to 30 mpg.Safety Ratings and Technology
Based on National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) testing, the Lexus RX receives a 4-star (out of 5 stars) overall crash-test rating with FWD, while models with AWD are rated 5 stars. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gives the 2014 RX its highest rating of "Good" in all assessments except for the new small overlap frontal-impact test. As this overview is written, the RX has not been tested in this regard. Additionally, the IIHS gives the RX a "Basic" rating for front crash prevention.
Standard safety features on the 2014 RX include 10 air bags, Safety Connect telematics service, and Smart Stop technology that is designed to prevent the SUV from accelerating if the driver is pressing down on the brake pedal. Options include a reversing camera, blind-spot monitor, and enhanced pre-collision system technology that includes forward-collision warning and Pre-Collision Braking System capabilities.
