The 2013 Lexus GX is a traditional body-on-frame SUV based on the Toyota 4Runner platform and equipped with 3 rows of seats and 7-passenger seating capacity. The GX is designed to go off-road due to a 28-degree approach angle, 21-degree breakover angle, 25-degree departure angle, and 8.1 inches of minimum ground clearance.
Standard and Premium trim levels are available, and standard equipment includes 18-inch aluminum wheels with mud-and-snow tires, automatic headlights, rain-sensing windshield wipers, water-repellant front door windows, illuminated running boards, and scratch-resistant triple-coat paint.Interior Features
The 2013 Lexus GX can hold 11.6 cubic feet of cargo behind its third-row seat. Fold that seat, and the SUV can manage 46.7 cubic feet of cargo volume. With the second-row seat folded, the Lexus GX can carry up to 91.9 cubic feet of cargo.
Standard equipment on the 2013 GX includes dual-zone automatic climate control, perforated leather upholstery, 10-way power heated and ventilated front seats with memory for the driver's settings, and a power-folding third-row seat. Wood interior trim and a power sunroof are also standard, along with a 9-speaker sound system with satellite radio, CD changer, USB port with an iPod connection, and Bluetooth connectivity with music streaming capability. The GX 460 also includes a 115-volt power outlet and a first aid kit in the cargo area, reversing camera, universal garage door opener, power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, and Smart Access keyless entry and push-button start.Optional Features
The GX 460 Premium version adds premium diamond-cut pattern leather seats, wood trim on the steering wheel, power-folding auto-dimming exterior mirrors, high-intensity discharge (HID) headlights with adaptive front lighting, and an adaptive variable suspension with rear adjustable height control. Inside, the Premium model is equipped with a heated steering wheel, heated second-row seats, and triple-zone automatic climate control.
The standard GX 460 can be upgraded with a Comfort Plus package that adds premium leather, triple-zone automatic climate control, heated rear seats, and wood trim on the steering wheel. This model can also be equipped with HID headlights with adaptive front lighting and auto-dimming exterior mirrors.
Both versions of the GX 460 can be upgraded with a touch-screen navigation system with Lexus Enform services, premium Mark Levinson surround-sound audio system, rear-seat entertainment system, and Intuitive Park Assist technology.
The GX 460 Premium model is exclusively offered with several safety-related features. These include a dynamic cruise control system with pre-collision technology, lane-departure warning system, driver attention monitoring system, driver attention camera, auto-dimming headlights, crawl control system, and a wide-angle forward-view camera to aid drivers when traveling in tight places.Under the Hood
The 2013 Lexus GX is equipped with a standard 4.6-liter V-8 engine generating 301 horsepower and 329 lb.-ft. of torque, and a 6-speed automatic transmission. Maximum towing capacity measures 6,500 pounds.
Active Traction Control is standard, and the full-time 4-wheel-drive system includes a torque-sensing limited-slip center differential that offers the ability for the driver to lock the power split. The 2013 Lexus GX is equipped with 10 air bags, traction and stability control, hill-start assist and downhill assist systems, reversing camera, and 4-wheel ventilated-disc anti-lock brakes with brake assist. The GX also comes with Smart Stop technology that is designed to make it impossible for the SUV to accelerate when the brake pedal is depressed. One free year of Safety Connect telematics service is also standard, and includes Automatic Collision Notification, an Emergency Assistance Button, and Enhanced Roadside Assistance.
