Range Rover Sport is mostly carryover from the 2007 model. A notable exception is the Limited Edition, offered in North America only. Only 250 will be built. Range Rover Sport, which debuted in 2006 with no major changes since, is Land Rover's first model in the high-performance SUV market. The 2008 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is available in HSE, Supercharged, or Limited Edition models. Standard features on all models include 4WD with traction control, 2-speed electronic transfer gearbox, terrain response system, electronic air suspension, 4-wheel ABS, and a 6-speed adaptive automatic transmission. HSE has a 4.4-liter, 300-hp V-8 engine, leather seats, 19-inch alloy wheels, and a 14-speaker audio system. The Supercharged model has a 4.2-liter, 390-hp, supercharged V-8 engine, dynamic response suspension system, and 20-inch wheels.
The Range Rover Sport Limited Edition features the supercharged V-8 engine and deluxe exterior and interior treatments. Outside features include flush-fitted front and rear bumpers, tailgate-mounted rear spoiler, rear exhaust tips integrated into the bumper, 20-inch forged alloy Range Stormer wheels, body-colored lower side panels, and adaptive front lighting. On the inside, there's exclusive premium tan leather, hand-polished lined oak wood trim, rear-seat entertainment system, adaptive cruise control, cold climate package, and center-console cooling box.

The 2008 Land Rover Range Rover Sport HSE is powered by a 4.4-liter V-8 engine that delivers 300 hp at 5500 rpm and 315 lb.-ft. of torque at 4000 rpm. Supercharged and Limited Edition models feature a 4.2-liter, supercharged V-8 engine that pumps out 390 hp at 5750 rpm and 410 lb.-ft. of torque at 3500 rpm. A 6-speed adaptive automatic transmission is standard on all models. Also standard are ABS, electronic air suspension, permanent 4WD with traction control, and 2-speed electronic transfer gearbox. All Range Rover Sport models feature the Terrain Response system that offers five settings to automatically adapt throttle response, vehicle ride height and gear changes according to terrain: general, grass/gravel/snow, mud and ruts, sand and rock crawl. The 2008 Land Rover Range Rover Sport has six advanced system air bags. Front air bags and seat-mounted thorax air bags protect the driver and front passenger; side curtain air bags protect both seating rows. There are also 3-point safety belts, Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren (LATCH) for child safety seats, child-safety locks on rear doors and windows, perimeter security system, and a central locking system. Dynamic stability control, advanced braking systems and active roll mitigation offer even more protection. Every 2008 Land Rover Range Rover Sport model features a 550-watt, 14-speaker harman/kardon audio system; 6-disc in-dash CD changer with auxiliary input jack for iPod or other MP3 devices; Bluetooth technology; and voice-recognition, touch screen, or steering-wheel-mounted audio controls. A DVD rear-seat entertainment system has two 6.5-inch video screens embedded into the front headrests and can be operated by remote control or touch screen. A 6-disc DVD player includes autochanger, infrared remote control, and additional sockets for devices such as MP3 players, cameras or video games.
