Overview

The Lincoln Town Car is a traditional full-size American car, first introduced in 1959. Now in its third-generation, the Town Car was last completely redesigned for the 1998 model year. The model is more than a decade old, but it remains popular with limousine companies who favor its large second row seating area and capacious trunk. In addition, aftermarket companies continue to build stretched versions of the classic limousine with this platform. The 2011 model is a carryover from last year.

The Lincoln Town Car is offerd in two models: Signature Limited and Signature L. The Limited model arrives with leather upholstery, air conditioning with dual-zone climate control, full power accessories, power opening and closing trunk, rear parking sensors, 17-inch alloy wheels, and more. The Signature L adds six-inches to the wheelbase, which directly results in more second-row room. In addition, it features heated second-row seats, rear seat audio and climate controls, folding armrest, rear seat vanity mirrors, and more. Options are limited to chrome wheels, xenon headlamps, and whitewall tires.

The Town Car is offered with one engine. The standard powerplant is a 4.6-liter, eight-cylinder that is rated at 239 horsepower and E85 Flex Fuel compatible. The standard transmission is a four-speed automatic that sends power to the rear wheels. The EPA rates the fuel economy of the 2011 Lincoln Town Car between 16 mpg city and 24 mpg highway.

The 2011 Lincoln Town Car Signature Limited starts with a base price of about $48,000 and tops out with Signature L, which starts around $53,000.
