Overview

The Lincoln MKS is a full-size 4-door luxury sedan that first went into production for the 2009 model year. Sharing platforms and mechanical components with the sixth-generation Ford Taurus, the Lincoln MKS is fitted with more luxury equipment and a larger engine than its Ford sibling, to be expected from the premium Lincoln brand. The 2011 Lincoln MKS is mostly a carryover from the 2010 model year, but some of the electronic systems, including remote starting, HD radio and turn-by-turn navigation directions, are new to the platform.

The 2011 Lincoln MKS is sold in just one trim level, but with several different powertrains. All models share the same leather upholstery, air conditioning with automatic dual-zone climate control, heated and cooled 8-way power front seats, heated rear seats, lumbar support, power rear sunshade, cruise control, auto-dimming rearview mirror, automatic adaptive Xenon headlamps, automatic high-beam control, keyless entry and ignition, 18-inch alloy wheels, and more. Major options on the 2011 Lincoln MKS include adaptive cruise control, automatic parking system, navigation, reverse camera, upgraded 14-speaker surround-sound audio package with 10 GB of digital music storage, 19- or 20-inch alloy wheels, and other amenities. An Ultimate package adds premium leather upholstery and a dual-pane moonroof, while the EcoBoost Appearance package adds 20-inch chrome alloy wheels, unique seat designs, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and illuminated sill plates.

The 2011 Lincoln MKS is offered with two different engines. The standard powerplant is a 3.7-liter V-6 engine that is rated at 274 horsepower. The standard engine, which burns regular unleaded fuel, is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission sending power to the front wheels (FWD), or optionally to all wheels (AWD). The optional EcoBoost engine is a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 rated at 355 horsepower. It requires premium unleaded fuel. A 6-speed automatic transmission and AWD is standard with the EcoBoost engine. The EPA rates the fuel economy of the 2011 Lincoln MKS between 16 mpg city and 25 mpg highway, depending on engine and driveline.

The 2011 Lincoln MKS starts at a base price of around $42,000.
