Exterior Features
The 2012 Kia Sedona is a 7-passenger minivan available in two trims. The base trim features 16-inch steel wheels, keyless entry, roof rails, and rear parking sensors. The Sedona EX has 17-inch alloy wheels, dual power-sliding doors, fog lights, power tailgate, heated outside mirrors, rearview camera, and extra chrome.
Interior Features
The Kia Sedona base trim includes cloth upholstery, removable second-row captain's chairs, fold-flat third-row seats, front and rear air conditioning, Bluetooth connectivity, 6-speaker sound system, and some power accessories. The EX trim includes more power accessories, including power-adjustable front seats and a leather-covered steering wheel. With third-row seats folded down and second-row seats removed, maximum cargo space is 142 cubic feet.
Optional Features
The Kia Sedona offers a rear-seat entertainment system as a stand-alone option. The EX trim offers several option packages, including the Luxury package, which upgrades to leather upholstery (including heated front seats) and adds a sunroof, power-adjustable pedals, and 3-zone automatic climate control. Either the Navigation package or the Entertainment package is available with the Luxury package; however, buyers must choose one or the other, or neither.
Under the Hood
The Sedona's standard engine is a 3.5-liter V-6 rated at 271 horsepower mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with manual shift controls.

EPA fuel-economy figures for the 2012 Kia Sedona are 18/25/21 mpg (city/highway/combined).
Safety
Safety features on the 2012 Kia Sedona include anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist, front-seat side air bags, and side curtain air bags. Other safety features may be added.
In government tests conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the Sedona received 4 (out of 5) stars for roof strength. In safety tests conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the Sedona received a "Good" rating--the Institute's highest--for frontal-offset and side-impact crash protection and a "Poor" rating for roof strength.
