The 2008 Jaguar
XK is a carryover model from 2007, when it was redesigned. The front-engine, rear-wheel-drive (RWD), 2-passenger, luxury sports coupe and performance luxury convertible offer few changes for 2008, but there are some: new larger brakes, aluminum or walnut interior trim, and new gear selector. The radio antenna is now hidden in the rear spoiler.Model Lineup
The 2008 Jaguar XK is available in XK coupe and Convertible and XKR coupe and Convertible. A 6-speed automatic transmission, 4-wheel ABS, and stability and traction control are standard on all models. The XK coupe includes the 300-hp, 4.2-liter V-8 engine; 18-inch wheels; remote keyless entry and vehicle start; tire-pressure-monitoring system; bright-finish dual tailpipes; leather seats; 10-way power-adjustable driver and front passenger seats; walnut or poplar interior trim; and a 7-inch touch-screen for audio, telephone, climate, navigation, personalization and valet. XK Convertible adds a power-latching, self-storing top that includes lined headliner; flush-fold and aluminum tonneau cover, bright-finish tonneau trim; and rollover protection system.
The XKR coupe has a 420-hp, 4.2-liter V-8 engine with Eaton supercharger; 19-inch wheels; aluminum-finish side mirror surround, trunk plinth and power side vents; body-colored hood louver; bright-finish quad tailpipes; adaptive front lighting; aluminum interior trim; and walnut or poplar interior trim. XKR Convertible adds a rollover protection system; body-colored spoiler; and refined top with automatic deployment in less than 20 seconds, according to the automaker.
Options on the 2008 Jaguar XK coupe and Convertible include various 19- or 20-inch wheels; aluminum luxury package; luxury package; adaptive front lighting; and a premium Alpine sound system.Powertrain
The 2008 Jaguar XK coupe and Convertible are powered by a 4.2-liter V-8 engine that generates 300 hp at 6000 rpm and 310 lb.-ft. of torque at 4100 rpm. The XKR coupe and Convertible get the 4.2-liter V-8 engine with Eaton supercharger that pumps out 420 hp at 6000 rpm and 413 lb.-ft. of torque at 4000 rpm. A 6-speed automatic transmission featuring sequential-shift steering-wheel-mounted paddle-shifting transfers power in all models. EPA fuel economy estimates for the 4.2-liter V-8 engine are 16 mpg city/25 mpg highway, while the supercharged version gets an EPA-estimated 15 mpg city/23 mpg highway.Safety

A 6-speaker, 160-watt, Alpine audio system with AM/FM radio and 6-disc in-dash CD player is standard, while an optional 8-speaker, 525-watt, Alpine premium sound system has Dolby Prologic II surround sound. Sirius satellite radio is available.
