Exterior FeaturesInfiniti offers the 2013 FX in FX37 and FX50 models. Each comes standard with xenon headlights, fog lights, and a power liftgate. The FX37 has 18-inch aluminum wheels, while the FX50 is equipped with super lightweight 21-inch wheels.
Interior FeaturesThe Infiniti FX37 is equipped with leather seats, heated front seats, Bluetooth, Bose premium sound system with a USB/iPod connection and satellite radio, dual-zone automatic climate control, Infiniti Intelligent Key with push-button ignition, and a power sunroof.
The Infiniti FX50 comes with quilted leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, Bluetooth streaming audio, navigation system, Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection, and an Advanced Climate Control system with a Plasmacluster air purifier.
Cargo space measures 24.8 cubic feet behind the rear seat. Fold the rear seat, and the FX offers 62 cubic feet of cargo room.
Optional FeaturesThe FX37 can be upgraded with nearly everything that comes standard on the FX50. Both the FX37 and the FX50 can be optioned with an adaptive front lighting system.
For 2013, the FX37 AWD Limited Edition includes 21-inch dark-finish wheels, special trim inside and out, navigation system, and an Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection. An optional FX50 Sport Technology package adds a Continuous Damping Control (CDC) suspension, Rear Active Steer technology, Intelligent Brake Assist, and a pair of front sport seats.
Under the HoodA new 325-horsepower, 3.7-liter V-6 engine is standard for the FX37, which is offered with rear- or all-wheel drive (2WD or AWD). The FX50 has a 390-horsepower, 5.0-liter V-8 engine and all-wheel drive. Both engines are connected to a 7-speed automatic transmission with Adaptive Shift Control, Downshift Rev Matching, and magnesium paddle shifters. A Snow Mode modulates the throttle for better traction on slippery surfaces.
Fuel EconomyAs this overview is written, the EPA had not established official fuel-economy estimates for the 2013 FX.
SafetyThe Infiniti FX includes 6 air bags, 4-wheel ventilated-disc anti-lock brakes with brake assist, traction and stability control system, and a reversing camera. Options include Intelligent Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Brake Assist, Adaptive Front Lighting System, and an Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection.
As this overview is written, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has not yet provided any crash test ratings for the Infiniti FX. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) rates the FX as "Good" in a frontal-impact collision and "Good" for rear-impact injury prevention. No side-impact or roof crush strength ratings were provided.
