The Infiniti EX has undergone several different incarnations, in different markets. In recent years, the EX35 has been the standard US model, but for 2011, it will be known simply as the EX. It's a compact luxury vehicle that seats 5, and could be considered either a small station wagon or a crossover SUV. It shares a platform with the Infiniti G37 sedan. For 2011, the EX adds a brand-new 7-speed automatic transmission and upgrades the standard wheels.
The two trim levels for the 2011 Infiniti EX both feature rear- or all-wheel drive (RWD or AWD). Base trim includes 18-inch wheels, leather upholstery, automatic dual-zone climate control, automatic headlights, fog lights, keyless entry and ignition, cruise control, power accessories, and a 6-speaker sound system. The EX Journey trim features a sunroof, heated front seats, Bluetooth connectivity, and other upgrades. The Journey also offers several option packages, including the Technology package (adaptive cruise control and a host of safety features); the Deluxe Touring package (19-inch wheels, adaptive Xenon headlights, more power accessories, and an upgraded interior); and the Premium package (fully featured navigation system, upgraded sound system, air purifier, parking sensors, and rearview camera). Cargo space behind the rear seatbacks is 18.6 cubic feet. With the rear seats folded down, total cargo space comes to 47.4 cubic feet, according to Infiniti.
A 297-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 engine with 7-speed automatic transmission (and manual shift control) is the standard powertrain in the 2011 Infiniti EX; it delivers 17 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway with either RWD or AWD, according to the EPA.
Standard safety features on the 2011 Infiniti EX include anti-lock disc brakes, traction control, stability control, front side air bags, and side curtain air bags. Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Brake Assist, a lane-departure warning system, rearview camera, and parking sensors are optional. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave the 2011 EX highest-possible "Good" ratings in frontal-offset and side-impact crash tests.
Starting MSRP for the 2011 Infiniti EX was about $35,200.
