Exterior Features
The Hyundai Genesis Sedan is a luxury model available in three trim levels: 3.8, 4.6 and 5.0 R-Spec. The Genesis 3.8 features 17-inch wheels, automatic headlights, sunroof, and heated exterior mirrors. The 4.6 has 18-inch wheels, adaptive HID headlights, and folding side mirrors. The 5.0 R-Spec has 19-inch wheels and sportier suspension and steering.

Interior Features
Standard interior features include dual-zone automatic climate control; leather upholstery with heated front seats; power accessories; Bluetooth connectivity; and a 7-speaker sound system. The 4.6 trim adds more power accessories; upgraded leather upholstery; ventilated driver's seat and heated rear seats; leather-trimmed dashboard and doors; 14-speaker sound system; and a navigation system with touch-screen interface. The 5.0's interior is similar to that of the 4.6.

Optional Features
The 3.8 trim offers several option packages that are standard equipment on the 4.6, including the Premium and Technology packages. With the 5.0 R-Spec, summer tires are available.

Under the Hood
The Genesis 3.8 model features a 3.8-liter, direct-injected V-6 engine that delivers 333 horsepower and 291 lb.-ft. of torque. The 4.6 features a 4.6-liter V-8 engine rated at 378 horsepower and 324 lb.-ft. of torque. The direct-injected 5.0-liter V-8 engine on the 5.0 R-Spec trim delivers 429 horsepower and 376 lb.-ft. of torque. All Genesis models for 2012 include an 8-speed automatic transmission with manual controls and rear-wheel drive.

Fuel Economy
EPA fuel-economy figures for the 2012 Hyundai Genesis are:
- Genesis with 3.8-liter V-6 engine: 19/29/22 mpg (city/highway/combined)
- Genesis with 4.6-liter V-8 engine: 17/26/20 mpg
- Genesis with 5.0-liter V-8 engine: 16/25/19 mpg

Safety
Standard safety features on the 2012 Hyundai Genesis Sedan include anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist, front- and rear- side air bags, side curtain air bags, and active front head restraints. Parking sensors, a rearview camera, and lane-departure warning are standard on the 4.6 and 5.0 trims and optional on the 3.8.

In government crash tests conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the 2012 Hyundai Genesis Sedan received 5 (out of 5) stars for rollover resistance. In tests conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the Genesis received a "Good" rating--the Institute's highest--in all safety tests.
