Overview

The Honda Odyssey is an 8-passenger minivan first introduced in 1994. While the first-generation model was nothing more than a tall variant of the Honda Accord, the Odyssey grew up in future iterations to its current, larger stature. The 2011 model year marks the introduction of an all-new fourth-generation model, which will go head-to-head against all-new models from Toyota and Nissan.

The 2011 Honda Odyssey is offered in seven different trims: LX, EX, EX-L, EX-L RES, EX-L NAV, Touring, and Touring Elite. Entry-level LX models are configured with standard cloth upholstery, front dual-zone air conditioning, driver's seat with 8-way power adjustment, power windows, tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, power locks, keyless entry, privacy glass, cruise control, manual sliding doors, "Wide-Mode" adjustable second-row seats, 60/40-split third-row "Magic Seat," 5-speaker audio, 17-inch steel wheels with full covers, and more. Mid-grade EX models gain power-operated sliding doors, alarm system, tri-zone automatic climate control, steering-wheel-mounted controls, driver's seat with 10-way power adjustment, upgraded audio with 7 speakers, and 17-inch alloy wheels. The EX-L model adds leather upholstery, power tailgate, power moonroof, heated front seats, rearview camera, cool box storage, an upgraded audio package with satellite radio, and more. The EX-L RES is configured with the DVD-based rear entertainment system, while the EX-L NAV features Honda's satellite-linked navigation system and a 246-watt audio system with 7 speakers. The Touring model is fitted with heated power side mirrors, acoustic windshield, satellite-linked navigation, DVD-based rear entertainment system, 10-way power-operated driver's seat, upgraded 246-watt audio package with 7 speakers, 18-inch alloy wheels, and more. The Touring Elite model builds on the Touring equipment with HID headlamps, blind-spot monitoring system, DVD-based rear entertainment system, upgraded 650-watt premium audio system with 12 speakers, and more.

The standard power plant for all 2011 Honda Odyssey vans is a 3.5-liter 6-cylinder rated at 248 horsepower. It is mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission in LX and EX trim levels, and a 6-speed automatic in the Touring and Touring Elite models. Front-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is not offered. The EPA rates the fuel economy of the 2011 Honda Odyssey between 18 mpg city and 28 mpg highway, depending on transmission.

The 2011 Honda Odyssey LX starts at a base price of around $28,500 and tops out with the Touring Elite, which starts at around $44,000.
