Exterior Features
According to Honda, the CR-Z is a "sport hybrid." The CR-Z is a 2-seater with 2 side doors and a hatchback, available in base or EX trim. The base CR-Z features 16-inch wheels, some standard power features, automatic headlights, and keyless entry. The EX trim adds Xenon headlights, fog lights, and heated exterior mirrors.

Interior Features
A lighted dash with distinctive gauge treatment and multicolored lights is a characteristic feature of all Honda CR-Zs. Cloth upholstery is standard on the base model, along with automatic climate control, cruise control, some power accessories, cargo cover, and a 6-speaker sound system. The EX upgrades the stereo system and adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel, Bluetooth connectivity, and special metallic interior decoration. Cargo capacity behind the seats is 25.1 cubic feet.

Optional Features
A voice-controlled navigation system with touch-screen interface is a factory option on the CR-Z. Dealer-installed options include satellite radio, 17-inch alloy wheels, and performance tires.

Under the Hood
The Honda CR-Z standard power plant is a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that combines with an electric motor to deliver 122 horsepower. The standard transmission is a 6-speed manual that features hill-start assist and a continuously variable transmission (CVT), with paddle shifters as optional.

EPA fuel-economy figures for the 2012 Honda CR-Z are:
- CR-Z with manual transmission: 31/37/34 mpg (city/highway/combined)
