Overview

The Honda Accord is a full-size sedan and coupe that was first offered for sale in 1976. Over eight generations, the Accord has grown from a compact car to its current full-size stature. It was last completely redesigned for the 2008 model year. The 2011 model year offers a significant refresh, including new aerodynamic enhancements that improve fuel economy, powertrain improvements, new features, and a slight redesign of the dashboard.

The Accord is sold as a four-door sedan and as a two-door coupe. The sedan is offered in three basic trim levels: LX, SE, and EX. The coupe is only available in LX and EX trims. Basic models feature steel wheels with hubcaps, keyless entry, full power accessories, air-conditioning, cruise control, tilt-and-telescope steering wheel, and a six-speaker audio system. The LX models feature upgraded wheels, improved driver's seat, and other options. The range-topping EX models feature automatic headlights, dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, and more. Models with an "L" in the designation indicate leather upholstery, while models with "NAV" in the nomenclature are fitted with the automaker's navigation system. The "V-6" designation refers to the upgraded six-cylinder engine.

The Honda Accord is offered with two different engine choices. The standard 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine is rated at 177 horsepower, and the EX trim level receives an upgraded variant rated at 190 horsepower. Optional on most trim levels is a 3.5-liter, six-cylinder engine rated at 271 horsepower. The standard transmission is a five-speed manual, with a five-speed automatic optional. All Accord models are front-wheel drive. The EPA rates the fuel economy of the 2011 Honda Accord between 17 mpg city, and 34 mpg highway, depending on body style and powertrain.

The 2011 Honda Accord Sedan LX starts with a base price of about $22,000 and tops out with the coupe EX-L V-6 with Navigation, which starts around $32,500.
