Overview

The Honda Crosstour is a midsize crossover station wagon designed to offer a middle ground between the Accord sedan and the Honda Odyssey minivan. The current flagship of the Honda lineup, the 5-passenger Crosstour was launched in 2010 (as the "Accord Crosstour") to compete against the Toyota Venza. The Crosstour is built on a modified Honda Accord platform and it shares engines with its sedan sibling. New just last year, the fuel economy and climate control buttons have both been improved for 2011.

The 2011 Honda Crosstour is offered in EX and EX-L models. Standard equipment on the Crosstour EX includes cloth seat upholstery, dual-zone climate control with vents in the second row, full power accessories, automatic headlights, keyless entry, sunroof, power front seats, tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, 7-speaker audio system, 17-inch alloy wheels, and more. The Crosstour EX-L is upgraded with leather seat upholstery, auto-dimming rearview mirror, heated front seats, driver seat memory feature, leather-wrapped steering wheel, cargo cover, Bluetooth phone connectivity, USB port and satellite radio, 18-inch wheels, and other amenities. The EX-L is also offered with an optional navigation system with a rear backup camera.

The sole power plant offering in the 2011 Honda Crosstour is a 3.5-liter, 6-cylinder gasoline engine. It is rated at 271 horsepower. A 5-speed automatic transmission is standard, sending power to the front wheels. An all-wheel-drive system, borrowed from the Honda CR-V, is optional. Lacking a low-range transfer case, the all-wheel-drive system in the Crosstour is designed for use during inclement weather, and not for heavy off-road use. The EPA rates the fuel economy of the 2011 Honda Crosstour between 18 mpg city and 27 mpg highway, depending on powertrain.

The 2011 Honda Crosstour 2WD EX starts at a base price of around $31,000 and tops out with the 4WD EX-L, which starts at around $37,000.
