What's New for 2012:
- No significant changes for 2012
The GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD are traditional full-size pickup trucks that are very similar to the heavy-duty versions of the Chevrolet Silverado. The Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD are available in several different configurations and are offered in standard, extended, or crew cab body styles. The regular cab features a 96-inch pickup bed, while the extended and crew cabs are available with either a 96-inch or a 78-inch bed. There are four trim levels: Work Truck (WT)--the base trim--SLE, SLT, and Denali. Wheel sizes range from 17 inches to 20 inches. Moving up the trim levels, the exteriors are progressively upgraded. The Denali trim includes chrome accents, four-bar grille, EZ-lift tailgate, and skid plates. Towing capacity for the 2500HD is 17,800 pounds with a fifth-wheel connection; the 3500HD regular cab's maximum payload is more than 4,600 pounds.
The GMC Sierra WT features vinyl upholstery, air conditioning, cruise control, 4-speaker sound system, and rubber floor coverings. The SLE adds cloth upholstery, carpeted floors, power accessories, keyless entry, OnStar, and satellite radio. The SLT trim includes a heavy-duty trailering package, locking rear differential, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated leather front bucket seats, Bluetooth connectivity, Bose sound system, and much more. The Denali trim adds heated and ventilated front seats, and power-adjustable pedals.
Exterior options on the Sierra HD include 20-inch wheels, bed extender, bed divider, cargo rail, sunroof, bedliner, Off-Road package, and a Snow Plow Prep package. A navigation system and rear-seat entertainment system are optional.
