The 2011 Ford F-250/F-350 Super Duty are two full-size pickup trucks which serve consumers looking for heavy-duty capabilities. Most are sold to companies for utility work, but some customers need the extra load and towing capacity these large trucks offer. Ford has significantly upgraded its Super Duty trucks for 2011. Improvements include an updated exterior, improved I-beam suspension, shock tuning for a more comfortable ride, re-engineered steering, and new powerplant updates.
The 2011 Ford Super Duty is sold in three-quarter-ton (F-250) or one-ton (F-350) chassis. There are four different trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, and King Ranch. There are also three different cabs (Regular, Super Cab, and Crew Cab), two different beds (short or long), and two different rear axle setups (single or dual). The Ford Super Duty can seat up to 6 passengers. While the base model is fitted with vinyl upholstery, air conditioning and steel wheels, upgraded models rival luxury SUVs with leather upholstery, full power accessories, and navigation systems. Popular equipment includes alloy wheels, cloth upholstery, privacy glass, automatic headlights, keyless entry, and more. The range-topping King Ranch model is distinguished by its special interior and exterior trim, remote ignition, rearview camera, heated and ventilated front seats, and rust-red leather upholstery.
The 2011 Ford F-250/F-350 Super Duty is offered with two different engines. The standard engine is a gasoline-powered 6.2-liter V-8 rated at 385 horsepower. The optional engine is a diesel-powered 6.7-liter V-8 rated at 390 horsepower (400 horsepower in the F-350). Both engines are mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard, with 4-wheel drive optional. When properly equipped, the 2011 Ford F-250 Super Duty can tow 16,500 pounds, according to Ford. The F-350 Super Duty is able to tow up to 21,600 pounds when equipped with a fifth-wheel hookup. Commercial trucks like the F-250 and F-350 Super Duty are not rated by the EPA for fuel economy.
The 2011 Ford F-250 XL starts at a base price of around $29,000, and the model range tops out with the F-350 King Ranch, which starts at around $48,000.
