The 2011 Ford F-250/F-350 Super Duty are two full-size pickup trucks which serve consumers looking for heavy-duty capabilities. Most are sold to companies for utility work, but some customers need the extra load and towing capacity these large trucks offer. Ford has significantly upgraded its Super Duty trucks for 2011. The 2011 Ford F-250/F-350 Super Duty is offered with two different engines. The standard engine is a gasoline-powered 6.2-liter V-8 rated at 385 horsepower. The optional engine is a diesel-powered 6.7-liter V-8 rated at 390 horsepower (400 horsepower in the F-350). Both engines are mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard, with 4-wheel drive optional. When properly equipped, the 2011 Ford F-250 Super Duty can tow 16,500 pounds, according to Ford. The F-350 Super Duty is able to tow up to 21,600 pounds when equipped with a fifth-wheel hookup. Commercial trucks like the F-250 and F-350 Super Duty are not rated by the EPA for fuel economy.
