  • Updated Sync with MyFord Touch technology
  • New SEL Appearance package
  • Three new colors

Exterior Features
Ford offers the 2013 Edge in four trim levels: SE, SEL, Limited and Sport. Three new colors debut for 2013, including Deep Impact Blue, Kodiak Brown and Ruby Red Tint. All trims have an Easy Fuel capless filler system.

Interior Features
The 2013 Ford Edge SE includes cloth seats, air conditioning, power windows, power door locks with remote keyless entry, power side blind-spot mirrors, tilt/telescoping steering wheel, dark tinted rear privacy glass, and a stereo with a CD player and an auxiliary audio input jack.

Optional Features
A new SEL Appearance package adds 20-inch aluminum wheels, body-color grille, and black leather seats with Alcantara inserts to the SEL trim. The Edge Limited is equipped with standard 18-inch chrome wheels. A set of 22-inch wheels, blacked-out grille and body-color trim set the Edge Sport apart. Depending on the trim selected, buyers can get Ford Sync hands-free connectivity, MyFord Touch infotainment with navigation, Sony premium sound system, leather seats, panoramic sunroof, power tailgate, and Intelligent Access keyless entry with push-button start.

Under the Hood
A 3.5-liter V-6 engine is standard on all trims except the Edge Sport, and is good for 285 horsepower and 253 lb.-ft. of torque. A turbocharged, 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine, dubbed EcoBoost and producing 240 horsepower and 270 lb.-ft. of torque, is optional on all except the Edge Sport. The Edge Sport is equipped with a 3.7-liter V-6 engine generating 305 horsepower and 280 lb.-ft. of torque.

A 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission is paired with all three engines, and includes paddle shifters on the Edge Sport. Front-wheel drive (FWD) is standard; all-wheel drive (AWD) is available with either V-6.

Fuel Economy
EPA fuel-economy figures for the 2013 Ford Edge are:
  • Edge 2.0L FWD: 21/30/24 mpg (city/highway/combined)
  • Edge 3.5L FWD: 19/27/22 mpg

Ford Sync with 911 Assist, which is also available, automatically contacts a live operator for help when the air bags deploy--as long as a phone is paired to the system. Reversing sensors, a reversing camera, adaptive cruise control with collision warning and brake support, a blind-spot monitoring system, and rain-sensing wipers are also available.

The 2013 Edge receives a 4-star overall impact-test rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), with 3-star ratings assigned for both driver and front passenger in a frontal-impact collision.
