The Fiat 500 is a small subcompact car, shorter and narrower than the Mini Cooper, although slightly taller, with a higher seating position. The 500 is available as a conventional hatchback coupe or as a convertible (Cabrio), and is available in three trims: the base trim, Pop; the Sport, which is available as a hardtop only; and the top-of-the-line trim, Lounge. The Pop trim features 15-inch wheels, keyless entry, and heated mirrors. The Sport features 16-inch alloy wheels, roof spoiler, fog lights, and sportier suspension and steering. The Lounge features the Pop's wheels, steering, and suspension, but adds more chrome and a fixed glass roof for the hardtop.
Standard interior features on the Fiat 500 include air conditioning, cruise control, 6-speaker sound system, trip computer, and some power accessories. The Sport adds sport seats and cloth/vinyl upholstery, while the Lounge provides premium cloth upholstery, leather-wrapped steering wheel, Bluetooth connectivity, and upgraded audio.
Most of the Sport and Lounge upgrades are optional on the Pop. The upper trims are offered with automatic climate control, heated front seats, leather upholstery, sunroof, and navigation system. Interior lighting may be upgraded by the dealer.
Under the Hood
The Fiat 500 power plant is a 1.4-liter 4-cylinder engine, with 5-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive, rated at 101 horsepower. A 6-speed automatic transmission is optional on the Pop and Sport and standard on the Lounge.
