Overview

Sharing its platform with the Liberty-but not the low off-road gearing of its Jeep counterpart-the Nitro is a compact SUV built on a unibody platform. All models share a 3.7-liter V-6 engine mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission. For 2010, the standard 6-cylinder engine receives fuel shutoff technology to increase economy, and there have been minor content changes.

  • SLT and R/T trims replaced with the SXT trim
  • Offered in 4x2 and 4x4 drivelines
  • Standard 3.7-liter V-6 engine has been recalibrated to improve fuel economy
  • Several small option and content changes
