Exterior FeaturesThe 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan is a full-size minivan, and is offered with two sliding doors and four trim levels. Sixteen-inch steel wheels are standard, with larger wheels available on other trim levels.
Interior FeaturesThe 2012 Dodge Caravan offers seating for up to 7 passengers. Base Grand Caravan models feature cloth upholstery, air conditioning, power front windows, cruise control, tilt-and-telescope steering wheel, and more. Upgraded trim levels are fitted with dual- and triple-zone automatic climate control, dual power-operated sliding doors, power liftgate, fog lights, rearview camera, power windows for all three rows, Bluetooth hands-free connectivity, dark tinted privacy glass, upgraded audio system, and other amenities.
Optional FeaturesThe 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan R/T offers a sportier driving experience, according to the automaker. In addition to its sport-tuned suspension, it features sport seats, leather upholstery, exterior cosmetics, and polished 17-inch alloy wheels.
Under the HoodDodge Grand Caravan models are fitted with one engine. The standard powerplant is a 3.6-liter V-6 engine rated at 283 horsepower. The engine is E85-compatible. A 6-speed automatic transmission mated to a front-wheel-drive powertrain is standard. While all-wheel drive is not offered, the Grand Caravan is capable of towing upwards of 3600 pounds, according to Dodge.

SafetyStandard safety features of note on the 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan include side-impact curtain air bags and a knee air bag for the driver. In government crash tests, the 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan received an overall rating of 4 (out of 5) stars, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). In tests conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the Grand Caravan received a "Good" rating-the Institute's highest-for frontal-offset and side-impact crash protection. It has not been tested for roof strength.
