What's New for 2014:

  • 30th Anniversary Edition debuts

The 2014 Chrysler Town & Country is a 7-passenger minivan that competes against the Honda Odyssey, Kia Sedona, Nissan Quest, and Toyota Sienna. Its primary distinguishing characteristic is Stow 'N Go seating, in which the second- and third-row seats fold into the floor and never require removal from the van in order to maximize cargo capacity.

Models and Features
Chrysler offers the 2014 Town & Country in Touring, S, Touring-L, 30th Anniversary Edition, and Limited trim levels.

The S trim level is designed to be a sportier yet still affordable version of the Town & Country Touring. It adds a sport suspension, unique leather and cloth seat trim with embroidered "S" badges, premium leather-wrapped steering wheel, front Super Console, and a dual-screen Blu-Ray DVD entertainment system for rear-seat occupants. Polished 17-inch aluminum wheels with Gloss Black pockets, a smoked headlamp treatment, and a dark chrome grille set this van apart on the outside, while the cabin gets Piano Black trim.

Move up to the Touring-L trim level and the Town & Country is equipped with perforated leather seats, a power front passenger's seat, Dark Maple simulated wood and Satin Silver interior trim, manual window sunshades for the second- and third-row seats, and remote engine starting. Exterior upgrades include extra chrome trim, side mirrors with turn signal indicators, and a set of 17-inch aluminum wheels. The Touring-L version also includes the SafetyTec Group, providing blind-spot detection, cross-path detection, rear park-assist sensors, automatic high-beam headlight control, rain-sensing wipers, and individual tire-pressure monitoring.

The new-for-2014 Town & Country 30th Anniversary Edition builds on Touring-L equipment with Alcantara seat trim accents, a heated steering wheel, heated front seats, heated second-row seats, power-folding third-row seat, power-adjustable pedals, power-folding exterior mirrors, and a keyless entry system with push-button starting. Additionally, this version of the Town & Country adds a Super Console, special interior trim, chrome door handles, and a unique wheel treatment.

At the top of the lineup, the Town & Country Limited is equipped with premium Nappa leather trim, a navigation system, memory for the driver's settings, wood-and-leather steering wheel, premium audio system, one-year subscription to SiriusXM Travel Link services, and the dual-screen Blu-Ray DVD entertainment system that comes standard in the S trim level. On the outside, this version gets a special wheel treatment, chrome roof rails, and HID headlights.

Options and Packages
Chrysler offers a number of upgrades to its various Town & Country vans. The Touring and S trim levels can be upgraded with the SafetyTec Group, ensuring that all versions of this minivan can be fitted with the best safety features available.

Additional option packages include a Trailer Tow Group for all trim levels; a Driver Convenience Group (heated steering wheel, heated front seats, heated second-row seats, keyless entry with push-button starting, power-adjustable pedals, chrome door handles) for Touring and Touring-L trim levels; Premium Group (load-leveling suspension, power-folding third-row seat, power-folding side mirrors) for Touring-L vans; and a Luxury Group (power sunroof, load-leveling suspension, power-folding third-row, overhead consoles) for the Limited version.

A hard-drive navigation system is optional for all Town & Country vans except the Limited trim level, for which it is standard. All versions are offered with a dealer-installed mobile Wi-Fi hotspot; Touring and S trim levels can be upgraded with side window sunshades; the Touring-L can be optioned with a power sunroof and a Super Console; and the Touring-L and 30th Anniversary Edition vans can be fitted with a Blu-Ray DVD entertainment system with dual rear screens.

Under the Hood
Every 2014 Town & Country is equipped with a 3.6-liter V-6 engine making 283 horsepower, which is delivered to the front wheels through a 6-speed automatic transmission that offers a manual shift gate.

Fuel Economy
Town & Country drivers can expect to get 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway, according to the EPA. The combined driving rating is 20 mpg.

Safety Ratings and Technology

As this overview was written, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) had not published official crash-test ratings for the 2014 Town & Country.
