Exterior Features
The midsize Chrysler 200 is available as a sedan or convertible in four trim levels (the base LX trim is available as a sedan only).

Interior Features
The Chrysler 200 base trim is the LX, available only as a sedan, and which features 17-inch wheels, cloth upholstery, air conditioning, cruise control, some power accessories, and a 4-speaker sound system. The Touring trim--available on the sedan or convertible--upgrades the sound system, wheels, and transmission, and adds automatic headlights, automatic climate control, and leather wrapping on the steering wheel. The Limited trim upgrades to 18-inch wheels, leather upholstery, heated front seats, Bluetooth connectivity, keyless ignition, and a further enhanced sound system. The S trim is fitted with a more powerful engine, sport seats, special exterior styling, and other upgrades.

Optional Features
A sunroof is optional on all sedan trims except the LX. A power soft top is optional on the Touring trim, while the convertible version of the Limited and S trims features either a soft top or a retractable steel hardtop. A navigation system is optional with the Limited and S trims.

Under the Hood
The standard power plant in the Chrysler 200 is a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine rated at 173 horsepower that drives the front wheels. Standard on the S trim and available on all but the LX trim is a 3.6-liter V-6 engine rated at 283 horsepower. The LX is fitted with a 4-speed automatic transmission, and a 6-speed automatic is standard on the other trims. A double-clutch 6-speed automatic transmission will be available late in the model year, according to Chrysler.

Fuel Economy
EPA fuel-economy figures for the 2012 Chrysler 200 are:
- 200 Sedan with 4-cylinder engine and 4-speed transmission: 21/30/24 mpg (city/highway/combined)
- 200 Sedan with 4-cylinder engine and 6-speed transmission: 20/31/24 mpg
- 200 Sedan with V-6 engine: 19/29/22 mpg
- 200 Convertible with 4-cylinder engine: 18/29/22 mpg
- 200 Convertible with V-6 engine: 19/29/22 mpg

Safety
Standard safety features on the Chrysler 200 include anti-lock brakes with brake assist, traction control, front-seat side air bags, side curtain air bags, and active front head restraints.

To date, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has not tested the 2012 Chrysler 200. In tests conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the Chrysler 200 received a "Good" rating--the Institute's highest--for frontal-offset and side-impact crash protection.
