Overview

The Chevrolet Traverse is a full-size crossover SUV that was introduced for the 2009 model year. Sharing platforms with the GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave, the Traverse offers seating for up to 8 passengers within its 4-door cabin. Built on a carlike unibody platform, the Traverse replaced both the TrailBlazer and Uplander in Chevrolet's lineup. The 2011 Chevrolet Traverse is offered with only one engine choice, but with two different horsepower ratings. The standard power plant is a 3.6-liter 6-cylinder engine rated at 281 horsepower in the LS and LT models, but 288 horsepower in the LTZ model with dual exhaust. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, with an all-wheel-drive system optional for those seeking more traction in inclement weather.
