What's New for 2013:

  • Powertrain grade braking
  • Three exterior paint colors have been added

Exterior Features
Chevrolet offers the 8-passenger Tahoe in LS, LT and Hybrid trim levels. The Tahoe LS features dark-tinted rear privacy glass, heated side mirrors, and 17-inch aluminum wheels. Hybrid models have lightweight 18-inch wheels and unique styling details that improve aerodynamics and fuel economy, according to Chevy.

Interior Features
The standard LS trim includes triple-zone air conditioning, power windows, power door locks with remote keyless entry, leather-wrapped tilt steering wheel, cruise control, power front seats, fabric seats, and floor mats. Bluetooth connectivity is standard. The 6-speaker stereo features satellite radio and a USB port, and the Tahoe is equipped with OnStar telematics service.

Optional Features
The Tahoe LT trim adds leather upholstery, heated front seats, Bose premium audio system, automatic climate control, power-adjustable pedals, remote engine starting, rear park-assist sensors, and fog lights.

Hybrid models include the same features as the LT, plus a touch-screen navigation system, reversing camera, and power-folding side mirrors.

The Tahoe LTZ trim has perforated leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, heated second-row bucket seats with power release, heated steering wheel, and a power tailgate. The LTZ rides on 20-inch polished aluminum wheels, and features chrome exterior trim, Autoride suspension, and a side blind-zone alert system.

Under the Hood
The 2013 Tahoe is equipped with a 5.3-liter V-8 engine featuring Active Fuel Management cylinder-deactivation technology. The engine generates 320 horsepower and 335 lb.-ft. of torque, and a 6-speed automatic transmission feeds power to the rear (2WD) or all four wheels (4WD).

The Tahoe Hybrid model features GM's 2-Mode hybrid powertrain, a 6.0-liter V-8 engine with Active Fuel Management, electric assist motors, and a 300-volt nickel-metal hydride battery that provides 332 horsepower. The Tahoe Hybrid is a full hybrid, meaning it can travel at low speed on electricity alone. This system features automatic stop/start technology to conserve fuel.

Fuel Economy
EPA fuel-economy estimates for the 2013 Chevy Tahoe are:
  • Tahoe 2WD: 15/21/17 mpg (city/highway/combined)
  • Tahoe 4WD: 15/21/17 mpg
  • Tahoe Hybrid 2WD: 20/23/21 mpg
  • Tahoe Hybrid 4WD: 20/23/21 mpg

Safety
Every 2013 Tahoe is equipped with 6 air bags, but the side curtains protect occupants in the first two rows of seats only. Also standard are 4-wheel-disc anti-lock brakes, traction and stability control, and 6 months of free OnStar service including Automatic Crash Response. Included on all trims except the LS are rear park-assist sensors. The Hybrid and LTZ trims have a reversing camera, and the LTZ gets a side blind-zone alert system.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the 2013 Tahoe achieves an overall crash-test rating of 4 (out of 5) stars, while rollover resistance is rated 3 stars for both the 2WD and 4WD models.
