Overview

New for 2010 is a 6.0-liter V-8 engine with variable valve timing and flex-fuel capability in 2500 models. Revisions have also been made to several interior and trim packages. Also new for 2010 is a pair of new exterior colors and USB ports for all radios.

The Chevrolet Suburban made its dbut in 1935. The Suburban is full-size SUV with seating for up to nine passengers and a maximum cargo capacity of 137.4 cu. ft.

For 2010, the Suburban is offered as a 1500 or 2500 model (the latter with a more powerful engine), in LS (base), LT, and LTZ trim levels. The LS trim includes 17-inch wheels, side assist steps, full power accessories, dual-zone climate control, and an eight-speaker stereo system. The LT has a locking rear differential, leather upholstery, upgraded audio with rear controls, tri-zone climate control, remote start, rear parking assist, fog lamps, and luggage rack roof rails.

The LTZ trim is available only with the 1500 model. It features 20-inch wheels, power liftgate, upgraded leather upholstery, heated and cooled front seats, Autoride rear air suspension, and an upgraded sound system. Many of its features are available as options on the lower trim levels. Other options include 22-inch wheels, sunroof, heavy-duty tow package, off-road package, navigation system, power retracting running boards, and more.

The 1500 model of the 2010 Suburban receives a 320-hp, 5.3-liter V8 engine with six-speed automatic transmission and two- or four-wheel drive. The 2500 model upgrades to a 352-hp, 6.0-liter V8 engine that can tow up to 9,600 lbs. when properly equipped with the optional tow package.

Safety features include antilock disc brakes, OnStar telematics, front-seat side airbags, three-row side curtain airbags, and a rollover sensor. In NHTSA tests, the Suburban received five stars for frontal impact safety.
