Exterior Features
The 2012 Chevrolet Impala is a full-size 4-door sedan offered in three different trim levels. Sixteen-inch alloy wheels are standard.

Interior Features
The 2012 Chevrolet Impala offers seating for up to 6 passengers with an optional front bench seat. Base Impala models feature cloth upholstery, power windows, rear window defroster, keyless entry, Bluetooth connectivity, and more. Higher trim levels feature leather upholstery, dual-zone manual climate control, remote ignition, auto-dimming mirror, and other premium appointments.

Optional Features
Major options for the 2012 Chevrolet Impala include a power-operated sunroof.

Under the Hood
All 2012 Chevrolet Impala models feature a gasoline-powered, 3.6-liter V-6 engine rated at 300 horsepower. The engine is E85-compatible. A 6-speed automatic transmission is standard, as is front-wheel drive; All-wheel drive is not available.

Safety
Standard safety features of note on the 2012 Chevrolet Impala include side curtain air bags and General Motors' OnStar telematics. The 2012 Impala has not been tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). However, in tests conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the Impala received a "Good" rating-the Institute's highest-for frontal-offset and side-impact crash protection. Roof strength results, however, were "Acceptable."
