Overview

What Changed for the 2010 Chevrolet Impala:

  • The Chevrolet Impala is carryover for the 2010 model year
  • 1LT models now come with standard fog lamps and offer the Convenience package (Universal Home Remote, auto-dimming inside mirror, outside heated/power-adjustable mirrors and Bluetooth phone connectivity)
  • V-8-powered Impala SS is discontinued
  • New exterior colors: Summit White, Cyber Gray Metallic and Aqua Blue Metallic replace White, Dark Silver Metallic, Mocha Bronze Metallic and Slate Metallic

The Impala is an iconic Chevrolet model that was introduced for the 1958 model year as an affordable large prestige car. In the mid-1990s, it was identified as more of a muscle/performance car, but in its current incarnation it has returned to its status as a full-size family sedan with luxury features. The higher-performance SS trim has been eliminated from the 2010 lineup

The 2010 Chevrolet Impala carries five passengers-or six with available front bench seating. The LS (base) model has 16-in. wheels, dual-zone air conditioning, full power accessories (including a power driver's seat), OnStar, and a six-speaker sound system. The LT trim level includes upgrades to the wheels and adds remote engine start capability. Front bench seating is an option on both the LS and LT trim levels. The LTZ has 18-in. wheels, firmer suspension, leather upholstery, upgraded mirrors, enhanced audio system, and heated front seats. The LT and LTZ trims offer an optional sunroof, and many of the LTZ's features are available as options on the LT

The LS and LT trim levels feature a 211-hp, 3.5-liter V6 engine, while the LTZ trim receives a 230-hp, 3.9-liter V6. A four-speed automatic transmission is standard. The 3.5-liter engine delivers 18 mpg in the city, 29 mpg on the highway, and 22 mpg combined, according to the EPA estimates, while the larger engine delivers 17 mpg in the city, 27 mpg on the highway, and 21 mpg combined

NHTSA gives the 2010 Impala five stars for front-impact tests. For side-impact tests, the Impala receives five stars for front passengers and four for rear passengers. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) rates the Impala "Acceptable" for frontal-offset impacts and "Good" for side impacts

Base MSRP for the 2010 Impala ranges from $24,290 to $29,930.
