Exterior Features
The 2012 Chevrolet Camaro is a compact sports coupe offered in coupe and convertible body styles. Eighteen-inch steel wheels are standard, with larger wheels available on higher grades.

Interior Features
The 2012 Chevrolet Camaro offers seating for up to 4 passengers. Base Camaro models are configured with cloth upholstery, manual sliding front seats with power recline, air conditioning, keyless entry, Bluetooth phone connectivity, and more. Higher trim levels are configured with leather upholstery, alloy wheels, additional gauges, and other upscale appointments. Convertible models feature a power-operated soft top which opens/closes automatically in about 20 seconds.

Optional Features
Camaro 1SS models are fitted with a sport suspension, 20-inch wheels, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The RS package adds the larger wheels and xenon headlamps. A 45th Anniversary package includes Carbon Flash paint with red stripes, black leather upholstery, and logos.

Under the Hood
Chevrolet Camaro models are fitted with one of two engines. The standard powerplant is a 3.6-liter V-6 engine, and is rated at 323 horsepower. The optional engine is a 6.2-liter V-8, and is rated at 426 horsepower. Rear-wheel drive is standard, with a choice of a 6-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmission.

Fuel Economy
EPA fuel-economy figures for the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro are:

• Chevrolet Camaro with 3.6-liter V-6 engine and automatic transmission: 19/30 mpg (city/highway)
• Chevrolet Camaro with 6.2-liter V-8 engine and manual transmission: 16/24 mpg (city/highway)

Safety
Standard safety features of note on the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro include side curtain air bags for both rows and OnStar crash notification. In government crash tests, the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro received a rating of 5 (out of 5) stars for rollover, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), but was not assigned an overall or side-impact rating. The 2012 Camaro has not been tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
