Overview

The Chevrolet Aveo is a subcompact four-door sedan and five-door hatchback. Launched in 2002,the first-generation Aveo is a rebadged Daewoo Lanos,manufactured in Korea. With a replacement only months away,the 2011 model marks the end of the product cycle,so changes are limited to a new cabin air filter and six months of OnStar Directions and Connections at no charge. An all-new,second-generation model has already been launched for the 2012 model year. Built on General Motor's new ""Gamma II"" platform,it will be built in factories in North America,Europe,and Asia.

The Chevrolet Aveo is offered in two body styles ••• both in three trim levels: LS,1LT,and 2LT. All entry-level LS models arrive with a manual transmission,manual windows,no air conditioning,cloth upholstery,rear 60/40 split-folding seats,AM/FM radio,14-inch steel wheels,and more. The 1LT gains standard air conditioning,floor mats,six-speaker AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio,and is offered with a power and convenience package ••• adding power accessories. The range-topping 2LT models are equipped with deluxe cloth upholstery,power windows,power locks,cruise control,remote keyless entry,15-inch steel wheels,and more.

All models of the Chevrolet Aveo share the same 1.6-liter,four-cylinder engine rated at 108 horsepower. A five-speed manual transmission is standard on all models,with a four-speed automatic transmission optional on the 1LT and 2LT trim levels. All Aveo models are front-wheel drive. The EPA rates the fuel economy of the 2011 Chevrolet Aveo between 25 mpg city and 35 mpg highway,depending on transmission.

The 2011 Chevrolet Aveo LS starts with a base price of about $12,500 and tops out with the Aveo 2LT,which starts around $16,000.
