- Debuts new Cadillac User Experience (CUE) technology
- First model offered with Cadillac's suite of new safety features
Exterior FeaturesThe new 2013 Cadillac XTS is offered in a standard level of specification, with Luxury, Premium and Platinum "Collection" option packages. Every XTS is equipped with HID headlights, heated outside mirrors with integrated turn signal indicators, and 19-inch aluminum wheels.
Interior FeaturesThe XTS comes standard with real wood trim, genuine metal accents, leather seats with 10-way power front adjustment, Bose premium sound system, Cadillac CUE technology with full smartphone integration, Keyless Access with push-button start, and a one-year subscription to OnStar telematics service.
Optional FeaturesThe 2013 XTS Luxury Collection adds heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, heated steering wheel, reversing camera, and front and rear park-assist sensors. The XTS Premium Collection adds a navigation system, Bose Studio Surround Sound audio system, triple-zone automatic climate control, color head-up display, reconfigurable gauges, and numerous safety technologies. The XTS Platinum Collection model adds special trim inside and out, an extended leather treatment for the cabin, window shades for the rear and rear side windows, and an Ultraview sunroof.
Under the HoodEvery 2013 Cadillac XTS is equipped with a direct-injected, 3.6-liter V-6 engine with 304 horsepower and 264 lb.-ft. of torque. A 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters delivers power to the XTS's front wheels. An all-wheel-drive system is optional, and can split torque between the rear wheels to create a torque vectoring effect. Cadillac also includes a premium maintenance plan that provides free scheduled service visits for the first 4 years or 50,000 miles of ownership.
Fuel EconomyOfficial EPA fuel-economy estimates for the new XTS were not available as this overview was written. However, Cadillac estimates that the 2013 Cadillac XTS with front-wheel drive will return 17/28/21 mpg (city/highway/combined).
SafetyThe 2013 Cadillac XTS features 8 air bags, traction and stability control, 4-wheel-disc Brembo anti-lock brakes with brake assist, and OnStar telematics with Automatic Crash Response service. In the event of an air bag deployment, Automatic Crash Response puts a live operator in touch with the XTS's occupants, and sends rescuers to the car's exact location.
Safety-related options include a reversing camera, side blind-zone alert, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning. A Safety Seat Alert system vibrates the sides of the driver's seat if the XTS leaves its lane without turn signal activation. Cadillac also offers adaptive cruise control with forward collision warning, automatic collision preparation, and front and rear automatic brakes.
The 2013 Cadillac XTS had not been crash-tested by the NHTSA or IIHS as this model overview was written.
