Exterior Features
The Cadillac SRX is a midsize luxury crossover SUV available in four trims: base, Luxury, Performance, and Premium. The SRX comes with either 18- or 20-inch wheels. All trim levels feature roof rails and remote ignition and entry. Exterior features on the upper trims include automatic wipers, front and rear parking sensors, power-folding mirrors, power liftgate, sport suspension, adaptive Xenon headlights, and fog lights. With proper equipment, towing capacity for the SRX is 3,500 pounds.
Interior Features
The base SRX includes dual-zone automatic climate control, 8-speaker Bose sound system, premium leatherette upholstery, OnStar, Bluetooth connectivity, and cruise control. The Luxury trim adds a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, enhanced ergonomics, heated front seats, power-adjustable pedals, rearview camera, and an upgraded sound system. The Performance trim includes a Bose surround sound system and a navigation system, while the Premium adds 3-zone climate control, heated rear seats, and ventilated front seats.
Optional Features
Various options are available with different trim levels, some of which become standard on upper trims. A rear-seat entertainment system with two seatback-mounted screens is available on all trims except the base model.
Under the Hood
All trim levels of the 2012 Cadillac SRX are fitted with a 3.6-liter, 308-horsepower V-6 engine that works with a 6-speed automatic transmission (with Eco mode for increased fuel efficiency) and front-wheel drive (FWD) that produces 265 lb.-ft. of torque. All-wheel drive (AWD) is optional.
Fuel Economy
EPA fuel-economy figures for the 2012 Cadillac SRX are:
- SRX FWD: 17/24/19 mpg (city/highway/combined)
- SRX FWD in Eco mode: 18/25/20 mpg
- SRX AWD: 16/23/18 mpg
- SRX AWD in Eco mode: 17/24/19 mpg
Safety
Standard safety features on the 2012 Cadillac SRX include anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist, traction control, front-seat side air bags, side curtain air bags, and OnStar.
To date, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has not conducted tests on the 2012 Cadillac SRX. In safety tests conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the SRX received a "Good" rating--the Institute's highest--for all crash protection tests.
