Overview

What's New
Everything about the 2007 Escalade ESV is new. It is built on GM's all-new full-size truck platform and sports a fresh, more aerodynamic exterior. Under the hood is a new robust 6.2-liter, all-aluminum V-8 engine with variable valve timing. It is mated to a smooth 6-speed automatic transmission. A completely redesigned interior shines with premium materials, and head curtain side air bags with rollover protection shelter passengers in all rows.

Overview
In a successful effort to stretch Escalade sales, Cadillac rolled out the extended-wheelbase Escalade ESV in 2003, thereby offering consumers a full-size luxury SUV with unparalleled passenger and cargo capacity. The ESV is nearly 21 inches longer than the standard Cadillac Escalade, almost all of which goes to third-row passengers and the cargo area behind them. Maximum cargo space is 137.4 cubic feet-about 28 cubic feet more than the standard Escalade. The ESV seats up to 8 passengers and comes in only one amenity-filled trim level, which now includes standard all-wheel drive.

Like the entire Escalade family, the ESV has undergone a major redesign for 2007. Its stiffer frame, coupeed with the addition of rack-and-pinion steering and a new front suspension, enhances its ride and handling dynamics. The new 6.2-liter engine-exclusive to the Escalade family-develops 403 hp and 417 lb.-ft. of torque, an increase of 58 hp and 37 lb.-ft. over the former 6.0-liter engine. While the new engine uses variable valve timing to optimize performance, it will not feature GM's Active Fuel Management cylinder deactivation technology for 2007. The new 6-speed transmission features two overdrive gears and includes a tow/haul mode with a manual shift mode. Maximum towing capacity is 7,800 pounds-an increase of 200 pounds compared to the previous-generation 2006 model.

The ESV offers a full complement of luxury equipment, including a power liftgate, leather seats, OnStar Turn-by-Turn navigation, 22-inch wheels, climate-controlled seats, power fold-and-tumble second-row seats, remote start, power articulating running boards, and a host of premium sound and entertainment systems. Its basic warranty of 4 years/50,000 miles is enhanced by a 5-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty.
