The 2015 Cadillac XTS is a full-size luxury sedan that shares a platform with the Buick LaCrosse and Chevrolet Impala. The 2015 model is mostly a carryover from the previous year, but it adds a few more power features, as well as power controls in the rear-seat armrest. The 2015 XTS is priced in the same neighborhood as the Cadillac CTS Sedan, but offers a roomier interior and a bigger trunk. Main competitors include the Acura RLX, Chrysler 300, Hyundai Equus, Lexus ES, and Lincoln MKS. The XTS is available with front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD).Models and Features
The 2015 Cadillac XTS comes in four trim levels. Standard equipment on the base model includes perforated leather seats, genuine wood trim, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a premium sound system with HD Radio and satellite radio. A Cadillac User Experience (CUE) touch-sensitive display screen and control panel is also standard, along with HID headlights, heated exterior mirrors with auto-dimming glass and exterior puddle lighting, adaptive remote engine starting, Magnetic Ride Control suspension, and 19-in. aluminum wheels. Total trunk space comes to 18 cu. ft.

The XTS Premium includes a surround-sound audio system with 14 speakers, triple-zone automatic climate control, color reconfigurable 12.3-in. gauge cluster, color head-up display, and an adaptive forward-lighting system. The XTS Platinum is the top-of-the-line version and includes a premium grille treatment, 20-in. aluminum wheels, fully-wrapped leather interior, premium perforated leather seats, microfiber suede headliner, premium wood trim, manual side window sunshades, and a power rear window sunshade.Options and Packages
With each trim level, Cadillac allows the addition of certain individual options from the next-higher trim. Lane-keeping assist is a new component of the Driver Awareness package, but it's available only with FWD. With AWD, that package still offers lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, forward-collision alert, and a vibrating warning in the driver's seat. That package is standard on the Premium and Platinum trim levels.Under the Hood
A 3.6-liter V-6 engine is standard for the 2015 XTS. It makes 304 horsepower and 264 lb.-ft. of torque, is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission with TapShift manual control, and features a capless fuel tank filler. An AWD system with torque-vectoring technology is optional with this engine. The Vsport versions of the XTS Premium and Platinum feature a twin-turbocharged, 3.6-liter V-6 engine that generates 410 horsepower and 369 lb.-ft. of torque and is offered only with AWD. Models with the optional twin-turbo V-6 bear a distinctive grille design.Fuel Economy
According to the EPA, the standard 2015 Cadillac XTS with FWD gets 18 mpg city, 28 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined; with AWD, the numbers are 17/26/20 mpg. The more powerful Vsport with AWD returns 16/24/19 mpg.Safety Ratings and Technology
The 2015 Cadillac XTS is equipped with 10 standard air bags, as well as one free year of OnStar subscription service including Automatic Crash Notification. Owners can opt in to an OnStar FamilyLink service that provides vehicle location alerts or lets someone remotely check the car's location. Safety-related options include rain-sensing wipers, intelligent headlights, adaptive forward-lighting system, and a reversing camera.
The Driver Assist package adds a few more features to the Driver Awareness package: adaptive cruise control, Front Automatic Brake, Rear Automatic Brake, and Automatic Collision Preparation.
