Overview

What's New for 2015:

  • Final year for current-generation high-performance coupe
  • Limited-edition model capped at 500 units
  • Many previously optional features now standard

Introduction
Cadillac's sporty coupe version of its CTS will be history after the 2015 model year, in which only 500 examples will be produced, and only in high-performance "V" guise. This is Cadillac's version of the muscle car: a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) model powered by a V-8 engine and the driver's choice of manual or automatic transmission. A single trim level is offered, and many features that were optional on last year's model are now standard, adding to the sticker price.

Models and Features
The now-fully-loaded 2015 Cadillac CTS-V features a 10-speaker Bose surround-sound audio system, navigation system with 8-in. screen and voice command plus real-time traffic and weather reports, dual-zone climate control, remote start, heated power front seats with 8-way adjustment, power tilt-and-telescoping leather-wrapped steering wheel, memory settings for two drivers, and 19-in. alloy wheels with summer performance tires. Headlight washers and leather/suede upholstery are standard. Previous options now standard include Recaro front sport seats (featuring special accents and red stitching), wood inlays, Brembo brakes with red calipers, and an imposing black chrome grille.

Options and Packages
With everything but the kitchen sink added as standard equipment this year, the 2015 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe offers only a few individual options. These include a power tilting sunroof, car cover, and wheel locks. Automatic or manual transmission is a free choice.

Under the Hood
The standard drivetrain in the 2015 CTS-V Coupe is a supercharged, 6.2-liter V-8 engine that produces 556 horsepower and 551 lb.-ft. of torque, with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission featuring steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters and a performance mode. Complementing the powertrain are a limited-slip rear differential, Magnetic Ride Control suspension, and Brembo brake components.

Fuel Economy
According to the EPA, CTS-V Coupes equipped with the 6-speed manual transmission should average 14 mpg city, 19 mpg highway, and 16 mpg combined; with the automatic transmission, the numbers are 12/18/14 mpg.

Safety Ratings and Technology
Standard safety equipment on the 2015 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe includes 6 air bags, OnStar telematics with emergency response services, rearview camera, bright adaptive HID headlights, rear park-assist sensors, rain-sensing wipers, and side blind-zone alert.

As this overview is written, neither the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) nor the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has rated the crashworthiness of the 2015 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe.
