      Exterior Features
      The 2012 Buick Verano is a new entry-level model that comes equipped with 18-inch aluminum wheels, blue translucent projector beam headlights, Buick's signature portholes on the top of the hood, and a black chrome grille treatment.
      
      Interior Features
      Buick IntelliLink provides Bluetooth connectivity between a smartphone and the Verano's LED color touch-screen radio system, allowing streaming music capability via Pandora Radio. Standard equipment includes a leatherette and cloth interior, automatic climate control, remote engine starting, and Buick's QuietTuning technology, which is designed to reduce wind and road noise.
      
      Optional Features
      The Buick Verano is available with Convenience and Leather option packages. Highlights include a power driver's seat, leather upholstery, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, Bose premium audio system, navigation system, and rear park assist. A power sunroof is also available, as well as EZ Key passive entry with push-button starting.
      
      Under the Hood
      The 2012 Buick Verano is fitted with a direct-injected, 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine, which is the only power plant available. The engine produces 180 horsepower at 6,700 rpm and 171 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,900 rpm. A 6-speed automatic transmission delivers power to the Verano's front wheels.
      
      Fuel Economy
      EPA fuel-economy estimates for the 2012 Buick Verano are 21/32/25 mpg (city/highway/combined).
      
      Safety
      Standard safety equipment on the Buick Verano includes 10 standard air bags, 4-wheel vented-disc anti-lock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist, traction and stability control system, and OnStar with automatic crash response service. A rear parking-assist system and a reversing camera are available.
      
      To date, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has not conducted crash tests on the Verano. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has named the Buick Verano a "Top Safety Pick" for 2012.
