It also features a six-speed automatic transmission with manual shift paddles. According to EPA estimates, it delivers 12 mpg city, 17 mpg highway, and 14 mpg combined. The xDrive35d trim level offers a diesel engine (emissions compliant in all 50 states) that provides 265 hp and 425 lb.-ft. of torque. Its fuel consumption is 19 mpg city and 25 mpg highway.

Other engines include the 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder in the X5 xDrive30i, which provides 260 hp, 225 lb.-ft. of torque. It offers EPA-estimated fuel economy of 15 mpg city, 21 mpg highway, and 18 mpg combined.
