Exterior Features
BMW fits 19-inch aluminum wheels to the all-new 2013 M6, which features sportier styling cues, compared with the non-M 6 Series. Standard features include adaptive xenon headlights, LED corona-ring running lights, LED taillights, and adaptive brake lights.

Interior Features
Merino extended leather is standard on the new M6, and includes Sun Reflective Technology on M6 Convertible models. Additionally, the M6 features unique carbon fiber black cabin trim, M steering wheel with M Drive pre-configured driving mode buttons, 20-way M multi-contour sports seats and, in the M6 coupe, an Alcantara upholstery roof liner. The iDrive navigation and infotainment system includes a 10.2-inch display, and the M6 is also equipped with dual-zone automatic climate control and a premium audio system with HD radio.

Optional Features
BMW M6 shoppers can choose from among various options, including ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel, Bang & Olufsen surround-sound system, configurable color head-up display, M-design 20-inch wheels, and more. Through BMW Individual, custom tailoring options are also available.

Under the Hood
The 2013 BMW M6 is equipped with a twin-turbocharged, 4.4-liter V-8 engine providing 560 horsepower between 5,750 and 7,000 rpm and 500 lb.-ft. of torque between 1,500 and 5,750 rpm. A 7-speed M-Double Clutch Transmission (M-DCT) delivers power to the rear wheels, and BMW says the M6 coupe accelerates from zero to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds (4.3 seconds for the M6 Convertible).

The M-DCT transmission features Drivelogic with automatic and manual modes combined with a total of 6 driving programs, which are managed using the gear selector or paddle shifters. Launch Control is also standard, along with automatic stop/start technology, and M Driving Dynamics Control with Comfort, Sport, and Sport Plus settings for the suspension, steering and throttle response.

Fuel Economy
The EPA had not finalized fuel-economy estimates for the 2013 BMW M6 when this overview was written.

Safety
Every 2013 BMW M6 is equipped with 4 air bags, reversing camera, front and rear parking sensors, Dynamic Cruise Control, and BMW Assist telematics with automatic crash notification. The Dynamic Stability Control system includes an M Dynamic mode. The M6 is also equipped with compound-rotor performance brakes featuring cornering brake control, Dynamic Brake Control, Brake Assistant, Brake Drying, brake-fade compensation, and start-off assistant. The M6 Convertible also features a rollover protection system that deploys in the event of a rollover accident.

Safety-related options for the 2013 BMW M6 include lane-departure warning, night vision with pedestrian detection, active blind-spot monitoring system, and Surround View cameras.

The 2013 BMW M6 had not been crash tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) when this overview was written.
