Exterior Features
BMW offers the 2013 1 Series in coupe and convertible body styles, and in 128i, 135i, and 135is model series. The BMW 128i models are equipped with rain-sensing wipers, heated power exterior mirrors, heated windshield washer jets, automatic headlights, fog lights, and 17-inch aluminum wheels.

Interior Features
BMW equips the standard 128i with leatherette seats, 8-way manually adjustable front seats, tilt/telescoping steering wheel, automatic climate control, Bluetooth connectivity, push-button ignition, and a stereo with a CD/MP3 player, auxiliary audio input jack, USB/iPod connection, and HD Radio.

The 128i Convertible is equipped with a power soft convertible top with a glass rear window and defroster, Convertible Mode for the automatic climate control system, trunk pass-through with a bag for skis, and a rollover protection system instead of side curtain air bags.

Optional Features
The 2013 BMW 135i is equipped with a more powerful turbocharged engine, sport suspension, M Aerodynamic body kit, xenon adaptive headlights with corona ring driving lights, headlamp washer system, and LED taillights. Additional standard features include a rear spoiler, black chrome exhaust tips, and 18-inch aluminum wheels, as well as 8-way power front seats with 4-way power lumbar adjustment, memory for the driver's settings, wood interior trim, and a power sunroof.

The new 2013 BMW 135is includes yet another increase in horsepower and torque, plus a sport-tuned traction and stability control system, performance suspension system, performance exhaust system, and an upgraded rear differential. Inside, the 135is includes heated sport seats wrapped in leather, stainless steel pedals, Anthracite headliner, and an M Sport steering wheel. BMW provides several option packages for the various 1 Series models, and the contents can vary depending on the model. The Premium package adds leather seats (128i/135i), 8-way power front seats (128i), power sunroof (128i coupe), wood or aluminum trim (128i/135i), ambient cabin lighting, Comfort Access keyless entry, auto-dimming mirrors, satellite radio, and a universal garage door opener. A Technology package is also optional for all three versions of the 1 Series, adding a navigation system with real-time traffic reports, enhanced Bluetooth, BMW Assist telematics service, and BMW Apps with smartphone integration.

The 128i and 135i models can be further upgraded with a Cold Weather package (heated front seats, headlight washers on the 128i, and a heated steering wheel on the 135i), and the 128i can be equipped with a Lighting package (xenon adaptive headlights with corona-ring driving lights).

The 128i and 135i can also be optioned with an M Sport package that adds unique wheels, M Sport Aerodynamic body kit, front sport seats, M Sport steering wheel (with paddle shifters for models with an automatic transmission), aluminum interior trim, Anthracite headliner, Shadowline exterior trim, sport suspension (128i), and a higher top speed.

Additional options include metallic paint, automatic transmission (128i) or Double Clutch Transmission (135i/135is), automatic high-beam headlights, premium surround-sound system, and, on 135i and 135is models, Active Steering.

Under the Hood
A 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine generating 230 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 200 lb.-ft. of torque at 2,750 rpm powers the BMW 128i's rear wheels through a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.

The more powerful 135i model receives a turbocharged, 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine that delivers 300 horsepower at 5,800 rpm and 300 lb.-ft. of torque from 1,300 rpm to 5,000 rpm. A 6-speed manual gearbox is standard, and a 7-speed Double Clutch Transmission (DCT) with paddle shifters is optional.

The new BMW 135is model also has a turbocharged, 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine but generates a little more power--320 horsepower at 5,800 rpm and 317 lb.-ft. of torque between 1,300 rpm and 5,000 rpm. Buyers choose between a manual or DCT gearbox.

The BMW 1 Series comes standard with BMW Ultimate Service, which provides free scheduled maintenance for the first 4 years or 50,000 miles of ownership.
