Introduction
The 2014 Audi Allroad is an Audi A4 station wagon equipped with a raised suspension and styling cues intended to make it resemble an SUV. It competes with other compact luxury SUV models such as the Acura RDX, BMW X1, Cadillac SRX, and Infiniti QX50.

Models and Features
Audi sells the 2014 Allroad in Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige trim levels. Standard equipment highlights include Quattro all-wheel drive (AWD), leather seats, automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, Bluetooth connectivity, and a 10-speaker audio system with a CD player, satellite radio, and an iPod connection. The Allroad also includes automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers and headlights, heated exterior mirrors, heated windshield washer nozzles, headlight washers, front and rear fog lights, stainless steel underbody protection, and aluminum roof rails.

Upgrade to the Allroad Premium Plus and the car is equipped with tri-zone climate control, heated front seats, memory for the driver's settings, Audi Advanced Key passive entry and push-button starting, power tailgate, xenon headlights with LED running lights, and LED taillights.

Select the Allroad Prestige trim level and Audi adds its Multi-Media Interface (MMI) navigation system with voice-recognition technology and real-time traffic reports, Audi Connect services, Bluetooth streaming audio capability, a premium Bang & Olufsen audio system, HD Radio, Audi Side Assist blind-spot monitoring, power-folding and auto-dimming side mirrors, adaptive headlights, parking sensors, and a reversing camera.

Options and Packages
All Audi Allroad trim levels can be optioned with metallic paint, a full-paint exterior treatment that eliminates the gray cladding, wood cabin inlays, and rear-seat side-impact air bags.

Choose the Audi Allroad Premium and additional upgrades are limited to heated front seats and a Lighting package that adds xenon headlights, LED running lights, LED taillights, and automatic headlight leveling.

Options for the Audi Allroad Premium Plus include 19-inch aluminum wheels, Audi Side Assist, and a premium Bang & Olufsen audio system. This version is also offered with a Sport Interior package containing front sport seats with power lumbar adjustment, and a 3-spoke steering wheel with shift paddles. An Audi MMI Navigation system is also available for the Allroad Premium Plus, and is packaged with park-assist sensors, a reversing camera, HD Radio, Audi Connect services, and more.

The Sport Interior package and the 19-inch wheels are also offered for the Allroad Prestige trim level, which is exclusively available with a Driver Assist package containing Dynamic Steering, an adaptive cruise control system, and Audi Drive Select technology that provides Auto, Comfort, Dynamic, and Individual vehicle settings.

Under the Hood
Every 2014 Allroad is equipped with a turbocharged, 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine, 8-speed automatic transmission, and Quattro AWD. For 2014, the engine's horsepower rating rises to 220, peaking between 4,450 rpm and 6,000 rpm. Torque measures 258 lb.-ft. between 1,500 rpm and 4,300 rpm.

Fuel Economy
According to the EPA, the 2014 Allroad is rated to return 20 mpg in the city, 27 mpg on the highway, and 23 mpg in combined driving. The engine requires premium fuel.

Safety Ratings and Technology
Audi includes wiper-linked headlights for every 2014 Allroad, ensuring that they're on any time the wipers are activated for a prolonged period of time. Audi Side Assist, park-assist sensors, and a reversing camera are optional for the Allroad Premium Plus, and standard for the Prestige trim level. The Allroad Prestige is also offered with an adaptive cruise control system.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has not given the 2014 Allroad an overall crash-test rating, as it has not assessed the vehicle's ability to resist rolling over in a lateral skid.
