What's New for 2013:

  • Optional S-line Competition package adds unique 19-inch wheels, performance suspension, and blacked-out trim
  • Additional paint colors and wheel designs

Exterior Features
Audi sells the 2013 TT in coupe or roadster body styles with a choice between Premium Plus and Prestige trim. The TT coupe has a small back seat that folds to expand cargo capacity, while the TT Roadster is a two-seater with a fabric folding top and a ski pass-through from the trunk to the interior. Audi says the top folds down in 12 seconds.

Standard equipment for the TT Premium Plus trim level includes power heated exterior mirrors with LED turn signal repeaters, heated windshield washer nozzles, rain-sensing wipers, Xenon Plus headlights with LED running lights, and fog lights. The TT is also equipped with dual round exhaust outlets, an adaptive rear spoiler that deploys at 75 mph and retracts at 50 mph, and rolls on a set of 18-inch aluminum wheels wearing performance tires.

Interior Features
The 2013 Audi TT Premium Plus trim is equipped with 10-way power-adjustable sport seats upholstered in leather with Alcantara inserts, aluminum dashboard trim, and a flat-bottomed, tilt/telescoping, multi-function steering wheel.

Standard equipment also includes automatic climate control, Bluetooth connectivity, and a stereo with a CD player, satellite radio, and an auxiliary audio input jack. The information center includes a trip computer, and the TT includes an auto-dimming rearview mirror with a compass display and a universal garage door opener. Power windows with one-touch operation, power door locks with remote keyless entry, and floor mats are also included in the starting price.

According to Audi, the TT coupe carries 13.1 cubic feet of cargo in its trunk. Fold the back seats down, and it holds 24.7 cubic feet of cargo. The TT Roadster's trunk measures 8.8 cubic feet.

Optional Features
Audi offers several options for the 2013 TT Premium Plus trim level. The seats can be outfitted with heaters, and wrapped in premium Nappa or Baseball Optic leather. A navigation system with a CD changer and SD card slots is available, as well as an iPod connection. The optional magnetic ride control suspension is packaged with a Sport mode that tightens the suspension, quickens the steering, and produces faster throttle response combined with a throatier exhaust note.

The Audi TT Prestige trim level is equipped with upgraded Nappa leather upholstery, heated front seats, navigation system, Bose AudioPilot premium sound system, rear park-assist sensors, and LED ambient cabin lighting. Options for the TT Prestige trim level include upgraded aluminum wheels, magnetic ride control suspension with Sport driving mode, iPod connection, and Baseball Optic leather.

Both versions of the TT can be equipped with an optional S-Line package. It includes unique 19-inch aluminum wheels, 255/35 performance tires, paddle shifters on an S-line sport steering wheel, matte brushed aluminum interior trim, headlight washers, black perforated leather with gray stitching, and revised front and rear styling. For 2013, an optional S-line Competition package adds those items plus titanium-finish wheels in a special design, gloss black fixed rear spoiler from the TT RS model, and blacked-out exterior trim.

Under the Hood
A direct-injection, turbocharged, 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine is standard for the 2013 TT, generating 211 horsepower at 4,300 rpm and 258 lb.-ft. of torque between 1,600 rpm and 4,200 rpm. A 6-speed S-tronic automated dual-clutch manual gearbox is standard, and works just like an automatic transmission because there's no clutch pedal and no requirement to manually change the gears. Quattro all-wheel drive is also standard, and Audi says the 2013 TT will accelerate to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds.

Fuel Economy
EPA fuel-economy estimates for the 2013 Audi TT are 22/31/26 mpg (city/highway/combined).

The 2013 Audi TT models are equipped with 6 air bags including dual front, dual side, and dual knee supplemental restraints. A traction and stability control system is also standard, along with hill-hold assist, 4-wheel-disc anti-lock brakes with brake assist, and rain-sensing wipers. The TT can be equipped with rear park-assist sensors, and the TT Roadster is equipped with fixed metal rollbars behind its two seats.

As this overview is written, neither the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) nor the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has performed crash tests on the 2013 Audi TT.
