Exterior Features
The 2013 Audi Q7 is a 3-row, 7-passenger luxury SUV available in 3.0T and TDI model series equipped with Premium, Premium Plus, Prestige (TDI), and S-line Prestige (3.0T) trim levels.

Standard equipment includes power heated exterior mirrors with LED turn signal indicators, LED taillights, heated windshield washer nozzles, rain-sensing wipers, rear park-assist sensors, and a power tailgate. The Q7 3.0T models have 18-inch aluminum wheels and contrast-color lower body paint, while the Q7 TDI models have 19-inch aluminum wheels, single-tone exterior paint scheme, and additional chrome trim.

Interior Features
The 2013 Audi Q7 comes standard with leather upholstery, 12-way power heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, genuine wood trim, Bluetooth connectivity, and an 11-speaker stereo system with a CD player, satellite radio, and an iPod connection.

Cargo capacity measures 10.9 cubic feet behind the Q7's third-row seat. Fold that seat, and the trunk offers 42 cubic feet of volume. Fold both rows of seats, and the Q7 provides 72.5 cubic feet of cargo space.

Optional Features
Options for the 2013 Audi Q7 Premium models include metallic paint, 19-inch aluminum wheels (3.0T), rear-seat side-impact air bags, panoramic sunroof, and Audi's MMI Navigation Plus system including HD Radio, color information display, and Audi Connect service with Google Earth mapping capability, Google Voice Local Search, and mobile Wi-Fi hotspot capability. This model can also be upgraded with a Cold Weather package (heated rear seats, heated steering wheel) and a Towing package (trailer hitch, increased cooling capacity).

The Audi Q7 Premium Plus model includes the MMI Navigation Plus system, Audi Connect service, and the panoramic sunroof, and adds Xenon Plus headlights, LED running lights, LED turn signal indicators, auto-dimming and power-folding side mirrors, reversing camera system, front park-assist sensors, and a Bose surround-sound audio system.

Options for the Q7 Premium Plus include the Towing and Cold Weather packages, as well as a Warm Weather package (deep-tinted panoramic sunroof, 4-zone climate control system, manual sunshades for the side windows and tailgate). The Premium Plus model is also available with a choice between 19- or 20-inch wheels, rear-seat side-impact air bags, and running boards.

The Prestige trim level sits at the top of the Q7 lineup, and can be equipped with exclusive features. In TDI format, the Prestige trim comes with 20-inch aluminum wheels, heated and ventilated front seats, power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, and the Warm Weather package. Additionally, the Q7 TDI Prestige is equipped with Audi Advanced Key keyless entry and ignition, Audi Adaptive Lighting with headlights that pivot to help illuminate around dark corners, and Audi Side Assist blind-spot monitoring.

In 3.0T format, the Prestige trim includes these features plus an S-line package that adds 53 more horsepower and 30 extra lb.-ft. of torque. The 3.0T Prestige is also equipped with S-line exterior trim, headlamp washers, and "Supercharged" badges.

The Q7 Prestige trim can be upgraded with Towing and Cold Weather packages, rear-seat side-impact air bags and running boards, just like other Q7 models. Exclusive options include an Audi Adaptive Air Suspension, Audi Adaptive Cruise Control, and a Bang & Olufsen Advanced Audio System.

Several S-line option packages are also available on the Prestige trim. The S-line Interior package adds brushed aluminum interior trim, black headliner, and a 3-spoke steering wheel with paddle shifters to the Q7 3.0T Prestige trim. The Q7 TDI Prestige trim offers an S-line package that includes these features plus headlight washers and S-line exterior trim. Both versions of the Q7 can be optioned with an S-line Plus package including 21-inch titanium-finish wheels and a Black Optics exterior trim kit.

Under the Hood
The Audi Q7 3.0T is equipped with a supercharged, direct-injection, 3.0-liter V-6 engine. With Premium and Premium Plus trim, the V-6 delivers 280 horsepower at 4,920 rpm and 295 lb.-ft. of torque at 2,250 rpm. Get the Q7 3.0T S-line Prestige model and this engine is tuned to produce 333 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 325 lb.-ft. of torque at 2,900 rpm.

The Audi Q7 TDI is equipped with a turbocharged, direct-injection, clean-diesel V-6 engine. It generates 240 horsepower at 3,750 rpm and 406 lb.-ft. of torque at 1,750 rpm.

All Q7 models are equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission and Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive system, which sends 60% of the power to the rear wheels under normal driving conditions.

Fuel Economy
EPA fuel-economy estimates for the 2013 Audi Q7 are:

  • Q7 3.0T: 16/22/18 mpg (city/highway/combined)
  • Q7 TDI: 19/28/22 mpg

The 2013 Audi Q7 is equipped with 6 standard air bags, including side curtain air bags protecting occupants in all three rows of seats. Rear-seat side-impact air bags are optional.

Additionally, the Q7 comes standard with 4-wheel vented disc brakes with brake assist, traction and stability control system with an off-road mode, hill-descent control, rear park-assist sensors, and rain-sensing wipers. The Q7 Premium Plus models add a reversing camera and front park-assist sensors. The 3.0T S-line Prestige and TDI Prestige models include a blind-spot monitoring system and headlights that swivel to help illuminate around corners at night, and these models can be optioned with an adaptive cruise control system.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has not performed crash tests on the 2013 Audi Q7. According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the Q7 receives the highest rating of "Good" for its performance in the moderate overlap frontal-impact crash test, side-impact crash test, and the rear-impact injury prevention test. The IIHS has not performed a roof strength assessment on the Q7, precluding it from being named a "Top Safety Pick."
