• There are no changes to the Acura TSX for 2013

Exterior Features
With the arrival of the new Acura ILX, the TSX is no longer the entry-level model in the luxury brand's lineup. Offered as a sedan or a station wagon, the 2013 TSX includes 17-inch aluminum wheels, high-intensity discharge headlights, and fog lights as standard equipment.

Interior Features
Every 2013 TSX is equipped with leather seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, 8-way power driver's seat, heated front seats, power sunroof, Bluetooth hands-free calling and music streaming, and a stereo equipped with satellite radio, USB/iPod connections, and an auxiliary audio input jack.

Optional Features
An upgrade is offered for an optional V-6 engine on the TSX Sedan, which includes 18-inch alloy wheels, better brakes, sport-tuned suspension, dual exhaust outlets, push-button ignition system, and Active Noise Cancellation technology to create a quieter cabin.

Otherwise, extra-cost items are grouped into a Technology package or are available separately through the dealership. The Technology package adds a hard-drive navigation system with voice recognition capability, real-time traffic and weather reports, and storage for up to 3,500 music files accessible via a Song by Voice feature. A reversing camera and a GPS-linked climate control system are also included in this option package.

Under the Hood
Both the TSX Sedan and TSX Sport Wagon are equipped with a standard 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine and a 5-speed Sequential SportShift automatic transmission. The engine creates 201 horsepower at 7,000 rpm.

Sedans are also available with a 280-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 engine, paired with the same 5-speed SportShift automatic.

Fuel Economy
The EPA had not finalized fuel-economy estimates for the 2013 Acura TSX when this article was written.

Safety
The 2013 TSX is equipped with 6 air bags, 4-wheel-disc anti-lock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist, and a traction and stability control system. Acura says the TSX employs pedestrian injury mitigation design, in that the hood, hood hinges, and windshield wiper pivots are designed to easily deform in the event that the car strikes a person or animal. The TSX also includes Acura's Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) structural design, which is designed to deflect crash energy away from occupants in the event of a collision.

Neither the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) nor the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) had performed crash tests on the 2013 TSX models when this article was written. Last year, the IIHS said the structurally identical TSX was a "Top Safety Pick." The NHTSA has not tested the TSX since it modified scoring standards for the 2011 model year.
