Overview

The TSX is Acura's entry-level luxury sedan. Last year, Acura upgraded the TSX by introducing a more powerful optional V-6 engine. For 2011, the main change is a new optional body style: the Sport Wagon, which features a flat floor in the back and generous, versatile cargo space, according to the automaker.

The base 2011 Acura TSX and the Sport Wagon both feature 17-inch wheels, leather upholstery with heated front seats, a full menu of power accessories (including power-adjustable front seats), dual-zone automatic climate control, Xenon headlights, fog lights, Bluetooth connectivity, and a 7-speaker sound system. The V-6 trim upgrades to 18-inch wheels. Optional is a Technology package, which includes a voice-responsive, hard-drive-based navigation system, an upgraded sound system, and, for the Sport Wagon, a power liftgate. The trunk of the sedan models provides 13.6 cubic feet of cargo space, according to Acura. The Sport Wagon, with rear seats folded down, offers a cargo capacity of 61 cubic feet.

The base 2011 Acura TSX and the Sport Wagon feature front-wheel drive and a 201-horsepower, 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 170 lb.-ft. of torque. It works with either a 6-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic transmission with steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. EPA-estimated gas mileage is 22 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway with automatic transmission. Fuel efficiency for the Sport Wagon is nearly the same. Optional is a 280-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 engine that produces 254 lb.-ft. of torque. Estimated fuel economy for the V-6 is 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.

Standard safety features on the 2011 Acura TSX include anti-lock brakes with brake assist, stability and traction control, front side air bags, side curtain air bags, and active head restraints. A rearview camera is included in the Technology option package. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave the TSX highest-possible "Good" ratings across the board in all impact tests.
