Interior FeaturesLeather sport seats, heated in front and including 10-way power operation for the driver, are included on every 2013 Acura RDX. Dual-zone automatic climate control, Keyless Access with push-button start, and ambient cabin lighting are also standard, along with a 360-watt premium sound system with a USB port and an auxiliary audio jack. Bluetooth hands-free connectivity with music streaming capability is also included as standard.
The new RDX can carry 26.1 cubic feet of cargo behind the 60/40-split rear seat. Maximum cargo space measures 76.9 cubic feet with the rear seat folded down.
Optional FeaturesThe only option for the 2013 Acura RDX is a Technology package that includes a power tailgate, AcuraLink satellite communications service, hard-drive navigation system with real-time traffic and weather, and GPS-linked and solar-sensing climate control. Under the HoodA 3.5-liter V-6 engine with 273 horsepower at 6,200 rpm and 251 lb.-ft. of torque at 5,000 rpm drives the 2013 RDX's front wheels through a 6-speed Sequential SportShift automatic transmission with Drive and Sport modes, paddle shifters and grade logic control. The V-6 includes the company's proprietary Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) technology, which allows the engine to operate on fewer cylinders under low-load conditions to improve fuel economy.
An optional AWD with Intelligent Control replaces the previous Super Handling AWD system with simpler and lighter technology. New for 2013 are Amplitude Reactive Dampers and Motion Adaptive electric power steering.
Fuel Economy- Acura estimates that the 2013 RDX will achieve the following fuel-economy ratings:
- RDX with FWD: 20/28/23 mpg (city/highway/combined)
- RDX with AWD: 19/27/22 mpg
SafetyThe 2013 Acura RDX features Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE), which is a structural design intended to be impact-compatible with a wide variety of vehicle types and sizes. Additionally, the new RDX is equipped with 6 air bags, 4-wheel-disc anti-lock brakes with brake assist, traction control, stability control, and a reversing camera offering three different camera views.
