Exterior Features
The Acura RDX is a compact crossover SUV with sporty and luxury features that incorporate Acura's first turbocharged engine. The RDX is available in a single trim, with a long list of standard features and an optional Technology package. The base RDX features 18-inch alloy wheels, automatic Xenon headlights, fog lights, sunroof, and rear privacy glass.

Interior Features
Standard interior features on the 2012 Acura RDX include leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, power accessories (including heated power front seats), cruise control, Bluetooth connectivity, and a 7-speaker sound system. Behind the rear seats, 28 cubic feet of cargo space is available; with the seats folded down, capacity increases to 61 cubic feet.

Optional Features
The Acura RDX offers a Technology package that includes a voice-controlled navigation system, GPS-linked and solar-sensing automatic climate control, rearview camera, and a premium 10-speaker sound system.

Under the Hood
The 2012 Acura RDX features a turbocharged, 2.3-liter, 4-cylinder 240-horsepower engine that delivers 260 lb.-ft. of torque. A 5-speed automatic transmission is standard, with shift paddles included. Front-wheel drive is standard, with an optional all-wheel-drive system that distributes power left and right, as well as fore and aft.

Fuel Economy
EPA fuel-economy figures for the 2012 Acura RDX are:
- RDX with front-wheel drive: 19/24/21 mpg (city/highway/combined)
- RDX with all-wheel drive: 17/22/19 mpg

Safety
Standard safety features on the 2012 Acura RDX include anti-lock brakes, traction control, active front head restraints, front-seat side air bags, and side curtain air bags.

To date, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has not conducted tests on the 2012 Acura RDX. In tests conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the RDX received a "Good" rating--the Institute's highest--for frontal-offset and side-impact crash protection, and a "Marginal" rating for roof strength.
