2013 Scion Model Overview

For the second consecutive year, Scion adds a new model to its lineup, and this one represents the polar opposite of the fuel-efficient Scion iQ that arrived for the 2012 model year. The new 2013 Scion FR-S (derived from Front engine, Rear drive, Sport) is a sports car designed for car enthusiasts who love to drive, according to the automaker. It boasts one of the lowest centers of gravity of any car, and offers two rear seats for 2+2 passenger capacity. Other Scion models receive minor updates for 2013, and Scion continues to provide free scheduled maintenance and roadside assistance for the first 2 years or 25,000 miles of ownership.





2013 Scion FR-S
Toyota Motor Corp. and Fuji Heavy Industries' Subaru brand worked together to create the 2013 Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ, 4-passenger sports cars with a high-revving Subaru "boxer" 4-cylinder engine, rear-wheel drive, and manual transmission. Though the Scion FR-S, which is called the Toyota FT-86 in other parts of the world, looks like it might be equipped with a rear hatch, it actually has a 6.9-cubic-foot trunk. Prices start at $24,955.

2013 Scion iQ
The 2013 Scion iQ is a 4-passenger mini-compact car designed for use in congested cities and as a suburban runabout with good fuel economy. In combined driving, the iQ is expected to get 37 mpg. It has a 94-horsepower, 1.3-liter 4-cylinder engine and a continuously variable transmission (CVT), and weighs 2,127 pounds. Cargo volume with the rear seats in use measures 3.5 cubic feet.

2013 Scion tC
The 2013 Scion tC is a 4-passenger sport coupe with a rear cargo hatch. A 180-horsepower, 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine is standard, offered with a choice of a manual or automatic transmission. The tC, unlike the new FR-S, is front-wheel drive. Standard equipment includes 18-inch aluminum wheels, panoramic glass sunroof, Bluetooth connectivity, and a premium sound system with HD Radio.

2013 Scion xB
The Scion xB is a 5-passenger car that blends elements of a crossover SUV, station wagon, and a hatchback into a single vehicle. It is equipped with a 158-horsepower, 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine and a choice of a manual or automatic transmission. The Scion xB holds 21.7 cubic feet of cargo behind the rear seats, and 69.9 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down.

2013 Scion xD
The 2013 Scion xD is a sub-compact car sold as a 5-door hatchback in a single level of specification. Safety upgrades are the main story for the xD in 2013. Otherwise, this model continues with its 128-horsepower, 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine and choice of a manual or automatic transmission. Cargo volume behind the rear seat measures 10.5 cubic feet. Fold the rear seats down, and the Scion xD can handle up to 35.7 cubic feet of cargo.
