Exterior Features
The 2013 Infiniti IPL G Convertible features a 3-piece power retractable hardtop, and is available in both Moonlight White and Malbec Black paint colors. The front bumper is redesigned, and the IPL G treatment includes sculpted side sills, large-diameter chrome-finished exhaust outlets, and 19-inch IPL graphite-finish wheels wearing staggered-width performance tires.

Interior Features
An exclusive Monaco Red leather treatment is available for the IPL G Convertible. The other interior color choice is Stone leather. Ventilated front sport seats with manual thigh extensions feature red stitching, embroidered IPL logos, and power-adjustable torso and thigh support. The driver faces a red-stitched leather-wrapped steering wheel, and the IPL G Convertible is trimmed out with Silk Obi aluminum dashboard panels, aluminum pedals, and IPL embroidered floor mats.

The standard Bose Open Air audio system with front-seat headrest speakers and the adaptive dual-zone climate control system automatically take into consideration whether the top is up or down and tailor operation accordingly, Infiniti says. The IPL G Convertible also includes Bluetooth hands-free connectivity with streaming audio capability, navigation system, and a Plasmacluster air purification system.

Optional Features
The 2013 Infiniti IPL G Convertible offers no options. Everything comes standard.

Under the Hood
Infiniti massages the IPL G Convertible's 3.7-liter V-6 engine to extract 18 more horsepower and 6 more lb.-ft. of torque compared to the standard Infiniti G Convertible. As a result, the IPL G Convertible makes 343 horsepower at 7,400 rpm and 273 lb.-ft. of torque at 5,200 rpm. Aiding in this effort is a full H-pipe dual-exhaust system featuring a 30-percent reduction in exhaust backpressure, the automaker claims.

The V-6 engine is paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission with Adaptive Shift Control, Downshift Rev Matching, and Drive Sport mode. A manual gearbox is not available. The driver can manually change gears using genuine magnesium paddle shifters mounted to the steering wheel.

The IPL G Convertible also features modified suspension spring and stabilizer bar rates, revised shock tuning, sport-calibrated steering, and 4-wheel vented-disc sport brakes with 4-piston front and 2-piston rear calipers.

Safety
The 2013 Infiniti IPL G Convertible is equipped with six air bags, including side curtain air bags that deploy upward from the door panels. Rear pop-up roll bars deploy in the event of a rollover accident, and the IPL G Convertible includes a reverse-sensing sonar system. Traction and stability control are also standard, as well as anti-lock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist.
