Introduction
The Lincoln Navigator is a full-size luxury SUV built by Ford's luxury division, Lincoln. It shares a platform and mechanical setup with the Ford Expedition. Like the Expedition, it is also offered in a longer-wheelbase version--the Navigator L. The Navigator and the Expedition are Ford's largest truck-based SUV, and they share a platform and design with the Ford F-150 pickup truck. The Navigator adds luxury to a rugged, heavy-duty vehicle, but has just slightly less cargo space than the Expedition. Its main competitors are the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class, the Denali version of the GMC Yukon, and the Cadillac Escalade. This may be the last year for the current platform, and a new one is likely to be introduced for the 2014 model year. Properly equipped, the Navigator can tow up to 9,000 lbs., with a maximum payload of 1,620 lbs. The Navigator seats 7 occupants, with seating for 8 optional. The Navigator and the Navigator L are the only Lincolns available with 4-wheel drive. Rear-wheel drive is standard; the 4wheel drive models feature low-range gearing.

Exterior Features
Colors include white, black, silver, grey, Autumn Red, Ruby Red, Kodiak Brown, Blue Jeans, and Green Gem. The Navigator has a 119-in. wheelbase; the Navigator L's is 131 in. Fuel Economy
Fuel-economy figures for the 2013 Lincoln Navigator are 14 mpg in the city, 20 mpg highway, 16 mpg combined for rear-wheel drive models as rated by the EPA. Mileage for 4-wheel-drive models is 13/18/15 (city/highway/combined).

Standard safety features include AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control, front-seat mounted side airbags, Safety Canopy System with 3-row side-curtain air bags and rollover sensor, MyKey, illuminated entry activated by key fob, tire pressure monitoring system, side-impact door beams, trailer sway control, and much more. Technology
The Control Trac 4-wheel drive system allows the Lincoln Navigator to be operated in "two high" rear-wheel drive, conventional "four high" or "four low" for off-road conditions only, or all-wheel drive, in which all of the engine's torque goes to the rear wheels unless traction loss is anticipated or detected--in which case as much as 100 percent of torque can go to the front wheels. The Navigator also offers an optional voice-activated Navigation System with SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link that includes traffic updates and the latest local fuel prices. Outside mirrors feature a convex spotter to provide blind spot alerts.
