2013 Dodge Challenger R/T Gets Redline Treatment at Chicago Auto Show

2/6/2013
At the 2013 Chicago Auto Show, Dodge is introducing a new 2013 Challenger R/T Redline model, which adds special trim for $1,995. Based on a standard Challenger R/T or the better-equipped Challenger R/T Plus, the new Challenger R/T Redline features special Graphite and Redline Red body-side stripes, body-color grille surround, and unique 20-inch wheels with black chrome trim and red accents. Exterior vehicle color choice is limited to white, black, silver, or gray, and the Challenger R/T Redline's interior is rendered in dark gray cloth upholstery.

A 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 engine is standard, paired with a choice between a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed automatic transmission. With the manual transmission, the Challenger R/T Redline generates 375 horsepower and 410 lb.-ft. of torque. With the automatic transmission, which includes a Sport mode and paddle shifters, power ratings are 372 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque.

Dodge's Fuel Saver Technology, which puts the Hemi V-8 engine into 4-cylinder operating mode under low-load driving conditions to conserve as much fuel as possible, is included with the automatic transmission. Versions with the automatic transmission also include remote engine starting, bright pedal trim, and a Mopar T-handle shifter.

Buyers selecting the Challenger R/T Plus Redline model enjoy premium leather performance seats in a choice between Radar Red and Dark Slate Gray colors. A Super Track Pak option is also offered for this model, adding 245/45ZR20 performance tires, performance brakes, and a lowered suspension.

The 2013 Dodge Challenger R/T Redline goes on sale in April of 2013. The base price is $32,985 including the destination charge of $995.
